t is in. As usual, there were a few snags along the way, but the bunch helping me had a way around every one of them. It is not running, but the engine is in the truck, the truck is back in the shop and I can do the rest of the detail stuff as I get to it. Thanks to everyone that has helped throughout this project, you guys are The ****...

Fred did this engine come in the truck and you rebuilt it or just cleaned it up outside?

It was a decent running, mild small block. We just pulled it and cleaned it up a little.

Thanks guys,, I am kind of proud of the way it is turning out. I usually don't go for the clean, detailed look, i am more of the crude, it runs so the hell with it guy. I have sure learned a lot doing this one like this.

It Runs..... A big difference from start to (almost) finish. Just need to get the hood back on, do exhaust and drive the piss out of it...

I just had a case of The Dumbass. I snagged the garage door roller as I was backing out to put the last couple of parts on. I already have a new bumper on the way and am getting ready to list a bunch of parts to pay for it. Just one of those things, oh well....

Yeah, it could have been worse. How did the garage door track fair?

Bummer about your bumper. I feel your pain, I ran over a tow bar in my yard and it whacked the snot out the bedside of my truck.

That Batwing air cleaner is too cool, I need to put one of those on my "Dreaded list'

Looking sharp there good job.
The air cleaner looks cool all snuggled into the firewall like that.

Bumper doesn't look too bad, even though a new one would be perfect wasn't there any trees around too try and push it back in.

My kid did the same thing a few years ago except going into the garage with his old s10 blazer...I think that was grill # 3 at the time.
The 91-93 grills were known too be tough as hell but somehow he went through 4 or 5 of them in 2-3 yrs.....I still have a spare hanging in the garage. And my flashing and track have never been the same since.

With the new bumper on its way what's next for the shop truck?

Yes, it was a bummer way to start the day, but if that is all i have to complain about then I have it pretty good. I have wanted one of these air cleaners for years and think it is exactly what this project needed.
