Was the rear of your truck sitting at stock ride height before you put the Monte rear springs in it?
What is the measurement from the ground to the top of the wheel well in the rear now?

I guess those spring will bolt right up?

yes i had the stock oils in the rear and the monte colis bolt right up like the stock ones. ill have to get back to you on the hight because the truck is in the paint booth at school right now but i will let you know

Thanks cstm. That is good to know. I will have to find some springs for the back. But after I get front springs. Previous owner cut front springs so it sits on the bump stop on the driver side. It's not level. I am putting my stock 69 front springs in…

Yeah, let me know how high it sits now :c2:

to answer the hight question the back is 32 and the front is 30
i would like it to be about 24 in the front and 25 in the rear once i do air ride

Re: my 68 shortbed build

should i go with a peral orange or just a regular orange paint job ??

RACINJASON22 06-18-2007 05:32 PM

Re: my 68 shortbed build

I really think only you can make that choice cstm68 if you go with what we like you may never be happy. :(

It is your truck, right. :metal:

As for my opinion I like the pearls myself. They may be a little bit more costly $$ but, worth it. If you don't have the extra coin right now wait and go with what you really want. Do not settle, you will regret it in the end.

I have done it in the past and wish I would have just waited and went with what I really wanted.

RJ22...:)

BTW: one thing I have done in the past when I worked at NAPA right out of school is get your paint supply shop/store to make you a custom mix. Have them give you the formula to keep in a safe place so you can always get a match (ya never know when you might need it) Something like add a little more red tint, more metalic, more of whatever, less of whatever. Then you will have a one of a kind color:metal:

i used a set of seatbelts from my parts truck

i need one more of the silver parts that go into the latch if any one has one, i was short one and had to make my own until i can find one

cstm68 12-05-2007 10:05 PM

Re: my 68 shortbed build

so i cleaned up how my new taligate latches bot the the bed.

the did have a bolt welded to the inside of the bed and then a nes screwed on to that. now i have changed it so it is more like the way factory style stuff bolts on. i took some washers and nuts and welded the a nut the the washer. then i cut a round hole in the stake post i the bed. the i welded the washer into the hole so it was flush and the nut was on the inside.

i think it will give the larches a more clean look.
