Re: Lks Dcvn - 1972 2WD Blazer Build
Never would have guessed. That blue tub looked solid. Won't be much left other than frame rails and vin plate...
|
Re: Lks Dcvn - 1972 2WD Blazer Build
Selling off the parts off the blue and original tubs to offset the cost of new sheet metal. The labor hours to fix the blue tub are more than buying new metal in some spots - so working smarter not harder in some spots.

Major milestone reached over the past week - back on 4 wheels again.
Drop is a front spindle drop 2.5" and rear spring drop 4" to keep it level. You can see the Red Head Steering Gear installed on the frame in this picture. |

Re: Lks Dcvn - 1972 2WD Blazer Build
Going back to the stock layout from the SPID. 524 Hugger orange, black interior, black single wall top. No rear seat and no center console, which seems odd, but sure enough there were no holes in the floor for either of those.
|
Re: Lks Dcvn - 1972 2WD Blazer Build
I believe that utility seats came with no console.

Re: Lks Dcvn - 1972 2WD Blazer Build
Interesting - are the seat tracks (bolt holes in the floor) the same for utility seats and bucket seats?
|
Re: Lks Dcvn - 1972 2WD Blazer Build
The front bolt holes on top of the ridge in the floor are the same between the 2 different styles of seats, but the back holes are different. The Utility buckets have a longer seat track than the normal buckets.
|
Re: Lks Dcvn - 1972 2WD Blazer Build
Makes sense - what is strange is that when the Blazer got to me - it had OEM sport buckets on OEM bucket tracks, but not a second set of holes in the floor for where utility bucket tracks would bolt to the floor.
Oh well - going with sport buckets when I'm ready for them. |
Re: Lks Dcvn - 1972 2WD Blazer Build
It's been a few years since I last came to this site. The box sides, rear floor and front floor are aftermarket specifically for blazer? What is the cost of those? Thanks
|
Re: Lks Dcvn - 1972 2WD Blazer Build
It's come a long way. Very nice work.
