are you sure these wont work on the 60-62 frame is it where the brackets bolt to the u-bolts?

Just my armchair quarterback opinion, you will loose travel on the shock, I think that was why he chose this location and the angle of the shock would change......JMO Kieth

I agree that you would lose some travel but the shocks that are supplied per Rob "the 'A' shoch measures 14" closed, and 23" open, thats nine inches of travel" would still offer far more travel than the 5" of travel that I had. I am guessing you might lose 2" of travel with an inverted mount. Again I'm just guessing and wondering, I'm not an engineer/fabricator, but unless you ask the guy that is you won't ever know.

I haven't looked into the 60-62 chassis. If you'd like to try a set, I'll give you an unconditional return option, and another 10% back after posting up the info, good or bad. As this would help out other with the 60-62,

While it could be done, you'd loose appx 2 3/4" of shock travel. Even if your on 15" wheels, you have to drive it on a flat until the tire was gone before it really scrubbed. The value of the longer shocks is worth it. Hows the ride/handling of your truck now? do you feel it was worthwhile?

There is a huge difference. I have put about 100 miles on so far. I find myself stuffing it into curves that I previously didn't. I haven't really thought about doing it, it just seems to happen:) It also passes the wife test, she thinks it's great. I do have a question about the bump stops you have on the shop truck, did you get it from a GM dealer or where can they be found? P/N# etc?
To answer your question "is it worthwile?" HECK YEAH!!

The Bump stops are from G.M. motorhome chassis. I'll see if we can get a part # for you.

Just got my kit installed. This is a quality kit, and the difference in ride is outstanding. I don't know how it compares to the other shock relocation kits, but blows the stock mounting out of the water. Nice work Rob.

Rob, will this kit work with a rear mounted fuel tank? I'll have to get a pic later to see if you can tell if it will work with mine. I may not be able to get to the inside of the frame rail anyway.

68 Step... I have a rear mounted tank and I got it installed. Had to twist my arm in all sorts of weird ways, but got it done. If you don't have much of a gap between the tank and the frame rails, you may need to drop the tank.

Do you have to raise/flip the trailing arm mounting bracket on the crossmember with this kit. Or is this something you would recommend doing. I have 2" blocks C notch and bags. 70 GMC

I wouldn't think you would have to, but they recommend doing that on lowered trucks. Just finished flipping mine and installing poly bushings.

Frame is powder coated poly bushings are in and didn't really want to have to do this but I guess it would be worth it if Rob recommends it.

you don't have to, but you may be giving up a slight handling advantage, and yes, I said 'slight'. Do be careful to check the pinion angle at RH and make sure it is a god match to the crank CL

If my trans is 4 degrees pointing down, what should my pinion be?

I think I can probably flip the backets without doing any damage. Also been thinking about going with an aftermarket crossmember anyway. Is there one you would recommend for this application? Thanks in advance and will be ordering the shock relocators and shocks in the next week or two. Which shocks for bagged C notch 101, 102 B?

First, really check the crank angle. The trans pan rail is not parallel to the CL. Use the oil pan rail, or the driveshaft yoke.

If your crank CL is 4* down, set your pinion 3* to 4* up at RH.

Honestly, the only aftermarket crossmember I've ever used is from Early Classics. It fitted very good. I'm sure the others from reputable companies would be fine. As for 101B for smoother ride, 102B is a bit more controled, and needed if you plan to drive pretty low.
