Wow some people should just stick to what they know! Talk about lipstick on a pig  Its all good though, nothing that cant be fixed. :)

Sad thing is, is this was all my work from my high school days. No offense though or else I wouldn't be showing you guys these nasty pics! I took a bunch of others yesterday that show the inexperience of my work. I'll post up some of those sometime soon.

It kinda sucks that I have to redo it all and after taking the pass cab corner and outer rocker off I now have to buy all new metal. I thought I could re use it, but it's too hacked up. So I'll have to save up for that now. Probably won't be able to work on it as fast as I thought as I am out of money!

Found a little bit of rust in this area of the cab.

No turning back now...

After cutting this side open I've decided to do away with the cowl vents. So I'm shaving them. They are a cool feature, something that I love about the old vehicles, but for this build they won't be used.

It's amazing how much debris gets caught in there... after seeing all that, I should have been taking a high pressure hose every year to that area to try and push all that out to prevent rust. If you guys are keeping yours that might be something to look at.

I forgot to show you guys what I did Friday night and Saturday morning... wow those took awhile to cut to fit. Probably would have been easier to buy the patches for them, but as the saying goes - you either have time or money, never both. What better way to spend a Friday night than working in the garage listening to Led Zepplin...

Been taking paint off panels here and there waiting for the weather to warm up. Started working a bit on my header panel. Cut up some 18 gauge and put it in my brake so I could cut out the rusted lip where the wood sits. Almost out of welding gas so we will see how far I get!

Header panel got a new lip. Also spent some time straightening the panel out. It had a slight bow in it. Got it looking pretty straight. I also cut out a couple spots on the back side of the panel so I could hammer out the dents where the top rolls. Must have been dented from things being thrown in the bed a long time ago.

Thanks! As you can see I get a little side tracked in my garage. One week I'll be working on the cab, the next - pieces for the box!

Looks like your cab is coming along nicely!! One of these days I'll be motivated again to work on mine.... unless you want to do mine??

 First I have to finish mine. Im finally gonna bite the bullet and get a gas setup for my welder. Ive been getting very frustrated with pin holes lately.

Nice! That will be pretty cool. I guess I've never welded without it, so I don't know much about it. It seems from what you are saying having gas is the way to go!

What method did you use to flip your cab on its "back"? I'm actually going to be getting a new floor in a couple weeks so I'll have to flip it like you did to make it easier. And don't worry...I'm going to brace the heck out of it!!

Yes bracing is a must. And I actually just got my dad over and we just picked it up and rolled it and set it down. Sounds much easier than it actually was!

Doubt it! I have a lot of prep work to do to make this all work. I have to take my glass out and then hang my doors to get my cab realigned so I can brace it correctly. Now that you are welding with gas you will be done in no time!
