Do ya'll actually think it looks better painted with a roller. I'd rather have the worn old paint. It adds character. you could have touched it up and waxed it.

The red roller job shouts back woods redneck.

with the peeling cracking and over spray....yup
Can't get any more redder......
up here weathered and worn gets rusty
oh and up here blue and white is leafs colours (truck bought about an hour from Toronto)(it's a hockey thing)
and i'm saving it, being a Sens fan (red, black, and white) Ottawa about 6 hours away
Toronto has 11 Stanley Cups since 1927 - none since 1967
Ottawa has 11 Stanley Cups from 1917 - 1934 - none since BUT we didn't have a team from 1934 to 1992

Re: Jim Bob a build thread

didn't go so well
not sure maybe cause i was painting late maybe the dew screwed the shine?

kikkegek 06-28-2011 09:01 AM

Re: Jim Bob a build thread

why?
it doesnt look bad besides the orangepeel skin on pic 3 from the top.

You can get rid of the orangepeel by sanding (if the caot is thick enough) and you can bring the shine up by buffing and polishing the paint...

this is the second coat
i'm doing three for sure,
but i'm still seeing blue lol so it might be four
and lol and a "bug pick n sand" between

when i've done it in the past it's been outside and starting early morning
to dry all day
not finish at dusk, would cut down on the UFOs
Unidentified Foreign Objects

under a rain delay today

Re: Jim Bob a build thread

nice! I cant waite to get started over here!

I got the advise over here to use a wood flooring roller. These have short hard hairs. This way it does not suck up too much paint and doesnt stick too much, thus causing less orange peal...makes sense?

I'll post some pick when I get some results...

thanks for the update john!
