Thanks srr! It's just an ol' stocker.

I finally ordered the wheels for it. I chose the Cragar Bonnevilles or 391 series. Here's a pic.

I posted these over in General 67-72 to see if anyone is running a set. And if so, were there any issues? Of course, I'd really like to see a pic with them on one of our trucks also.

I just read a general post regarding parchment colored seatbelt retractor covers.

It made me wonder why this truck has black ones instead of parchment belts and covers.

Also the armrests are black. My guess is that the armrests were replaced at some point but now, I'm not so sure.

Also, should I have painted my AC ball vent covers?

Today's update pics. She went on her remaiden voyage today.
We drove it into town and got plates for the ol' girl as well as the mandatory trip to NAPA for more parts.

One of the fellow shop geeks came by and I gave him a ride. Let's just say that for a one legged 308'er she lays enough rubber and makes enough noise that one of our local finest followed us home.

He looked at the truck and said,"WOW"!

Then he said, " If anyone asks, Rob, tell 'em I really chewed you out for doin' that". Gawd! I love livin' where I do!

To the pics!

When do your wheels get here, I was just about to order some???? Can't wait to see them, what size and bs did you get?

Thanks for the comments guys.

Wheels are 2 weeks out. They had the 15x7's in stock but not the 8's for the back.

15x7 w/3.5 bs on front and 15x8 w/4.5 bs on back 275-60-15 rear and 255-60-15 front.

Gawrsh I hope that works!

Farg! Farg! Farg!

I ordered my upper and lower moldings and clip set from Mar-k this last tuesday. I wait all week to see it comes through the bank account and maybe a tracking number.

First thing this morning I call and find out that they have A. either lost their supplier for woodgrain or B. they were experiencing quality issues with the stuff they were using and it was peeling off.

I heard both reasons yet they could be one and the same.

I think I'm going through the typical end of project blues. I can't seem to get the last bit of parts I need no matter how I beg.

If you are still looking for the insulation for the a/c, typically the truck venders do not carry it unless some have just started. I generally use the impala, camaro guy's catalog to get some of the items truck venders tend to over look. Expect to spend around $18 or so for a roll. It is called a/c insulation tape or cork tape. It is really pliable and easy to use. It used to be available from GM but they have since discontinued it. Try Rick's first generation as a source for it. Hope this helps. Harold

I can't believe I haven't run across your build thread til today!

Did CSM ever deliver your back-ordered parts? Where did you get your seat covers? What's the moldimg situation? Please say your wheels came in - those Buick wheels need to go!

Great looking truck - the black paint, white inside and woodgrain look REALLY nice together. Great job.

Re: Worth Restoring- Dad's old truck

Thanks for the kind words fellas. The wheels should be on by the end of the week to answer that question.

MAR-K is about 3 weeks out for the lower trim and the upper trim is half on. She's looking a bit forlorn.

This tuesday she gets civilised. Meaning a new cam. Too gawldang lopey, no whoa and just plain poor behaving. Power in the rpms, not down low in the pull like a good street truck should be.

Harold, I'm honored that you stopped by and took a look at her. Not in your league sir but she'll be fun to drive. Note how this truck has a piece of N. C. trim on that passenger door. Thankyou sir! And yes, I found that ac part.

Thanks Zoomin'! Csm did not finish their end of the order. Still like those guys alot though. Great knowledge there now. I figure you gotta pay a liittle for an education. They provided the seat cover and I'm sure they'd be tickled to get you one.

Bosshogg69,
That there is funny mister. My Dad's screen name and e bay handle was bosshawg103. Karmic, just karmic. Thanks for the kind words.

I'll try and do an update as soon as the wheels show up.
