^^^ Thanks alot!
Small update... painter is finally getting caught up so they are gonna try to get started on the bed this week. I have been working on the door gaps and trying to get them as straight as possible. Went to LMC this weekend and bought a new gas tank, tank grommets, hoses, door "rattle" weatherstrip, hood emblem, stainless center hood trim, knobs and handles, tail light brackets ad several other small items. I also built the 3" stainless exhuast and had a friend tig weld it all together. I hate spending the money on stainless but it looks awesome hand tigged and lasts forever. I also cut the 3 bolt flanges off the headers and welded on 3" v-band clamps to ensure a leak free connection. I will get some pics loaded soon! |

I ordered the HD 3 leaf front springs today to replace the 2 leaf since one side is broken. Also, got the new fuel tank in and fired it up tonight.
Here are a few pics. Sorry everything is covered in dust! Top of cab was alot of work! I think goats had a dance on it! All straightened and ready to 400 grit wet sand. http://img84.imageshack.us/i/dscn3742.jpg/ http://img840.imageshack.us/i/dscn3745x.jpg/ http://img23.imageshack.us/i/dscn3746j.jpg/ Stainless 3" v-band to eliminate exhaust leaks! http://img813.imageshack.us/i/dscn3752s.jpg/ http://img806.imageshack.us/i/dscn3758k.jpg/ |

Where did you buy your exhaust components from? Getting ready to think about buying the parts for mine. Have another seven months of shopping time.

I used (2) 3" v-band clamps, (2) u-j bends which give you two 90* and one 45* bends each, (2) 5ft pipes of tubing. The manufactorer is www.vibrantperformance.com ad you can get it all on ebay.

I stopped by the bodyshop Thursday and they should have the bed and rear fenders painted this week, I'm really hoping they do. In the mean time I painted the firewall, installed the new 3 leaf front springs, and replaced/painted the entire brake system. All the pads, rotors, seals were shot so I was only able to reuse the brake lines. I also did some trading and put on some aluminum wheels, though I plan to sell them later and buy some 18" wheels.

Nice progress, though I liked the other wheels better.

Thank you! As for the wheels I liked the factory better as well, however one was bent pretty bad and another was slightly and I gave up on finding a couple replacements so this was the best option for now. I will end up putting some 18" wheels on it after I recover from some of the unexpected costs.

Yeah I know what you mean as one of mine is also bent, not to mention 16.5 tires are getting hard to find.

Finally got some blue!!! Cell phone pics give it a grainy look. Turned out really nice for not being wetsanded and polished!

I am linex undercoating the inner fender areas and the bed rails and floor so I did not make them perfect. http://img269.imageshack.us/i/img20110411182112.jpg/ |

I'm telling you, the paint looks like if I licked it, it'd taste good.
My Dad, and myself painted a motorcycle in a candy red with the exact same final effect. Makes me think we should have painted it blue lol. |

I have a build thread I am working on. It's projects like yours that keep me motivated. I am not experienced with body work and am a bit scared to start welding up holes on my truck, but after seeing your thread, I am going for it. Thanks!
Here is my little project. http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...63#post4594263 |

Re: PROJECT: 1950 Chevy 3/4T 4x4... new member
 I just can't make up my mind what will look good on it and also have something that isn't done a lot. I'm guessing it won't get any blue treatment at this time.

Well the painter finally made room to get started on the cab. He is hoping to get it in paint within a few weeks. As you can tell he is really busy and I'm patiently waiting. I know he will do a good job so I guess for once I'll have to be patient LOL!
