Made just a tiny bit of progress tonight. Got my rear caliper brackets bolted up. These are the brackets that Captainfab sells here on the site. If any of you are thinking about putting rear discs on your truck and don't want to buy a complete kit I highly suggest these brackets. They are great quality and mine fit perfectly so far. My rotors are supposed to be here next week but I did have a nice package waiting on my porch when I got home tonight (last picture).

Finally got my front components installed today. I've still got to install the upper shock mounts, shocks, tie rod and sway bar but at least some progress is being made.

Re: Mieser's 71 Short Wide Project

LOL, that's right! Hopefully next week at this time I'll be able to roll it around on it's own. Just waiting for the UPS man to bring me some rotors and tie rod adjusting sleeves.

Did you get your sway bar from Porterbuilt also?

Re: Mieser's 71 Short Wide Project

I got it through Nate. It is an Addco sway bar.

Not quite sure. You'd have to ask Nate at Porterbuilt.

Thanks for compliment.

Made some minor progress tonight. My rotors arrived so I was able to get the rear calipers bolted up.

Those brackets are built and sold by member/vendor Captainfab.

on the rear caliper brackets, what are they setup for? as far as calipers? looks like a nice setup! I think I will go with the captain......

Re: Mieser's 71 Short Wide Project

So sorry it's taken me this long to respond bmfpeterson but I haven't checked my build thread in a long time. The rear disc brake brackets are set up for the GM D52 calipers. I purchased a set of Wilwood D52 calipers to use on this truck.

As I said in my previous post I've gone way too long without an update on my project. I haven't progressed as much as I'd like to....I blame the cold weather. Anyway, I finally have the chassis all bolted up and the frame now sits of 4 wheels. Got the Porterbuilt Stage 2 front components all bolted up. Ordered a Boyd Welding gas tank which should be here next week. Next step is to hopefully get the gas tank bolted up and get the fuel line ran. Here's a few pics of where I'm currently at with the project.
