Re: 71 C10 6.0 LS ground up build
Body is still at paint but have been able to collect a few more parts and started restoring the vent windows. Also assembled front bumper and bought led lights for side markers park lights and taillights.

Got a new cpp series 500 gear box so I installed it this evening. Used power steering hoses from a 1977 model year and bought a adapter fitting from dirty dingo to adapt 3/8 flare to oring style pump on Ls motor.

Finished up vent windows replaced all weatherstripping, painted frames, and replaced chrome pieces. I also took buddy buckets apart and had my neighbor weld the seat frames. Painted frames in preparation for upholstery.

Everything is coming out very nice.
How hard was it to do the vent windows? I need to do mine too. |
Re: 71 C10 6.0 LS ground up build
Vent windows were a chore. After all that work I decided to buy chrome vent windows instead haha.

A little sneak peak of the red I chose. It's viper red with red and white diamond pearl added. The white will be standard gm white. Color really pops in the sun!

Cab looks great. Do you know was the original paint just scuffed, body worked, then primered? Ive been thinking of doing something along those lines with mine. |
Re: 71 C10 6.0 LS ground up build
Yes body was scuffed then primed. There were no rust issues with cab only dents and filling gas filler.
