last year I changed the trans and torque converter from 2800 stall to 3500 stall,28 inch tall tire to a 26, and slipping badley in drive as soon as I hit drive down the track it still ran 13.09 @101 mph my 60ft times went from 1.90 to 1.77 should be interesting to see what happens with a good trans i am guessing 12.60s to 12.70s.. Best et with other converter (2800 stall) and 28 in tall tire was 12.96 @103.73 in the 1/4 mi 8.19 @ 84.96 in the 1/8th....

Ok so now it is done and it ran 1.731 60ft , 8.03 1/8 and so far 12.804 1/4 I guess the trans was slipping just a tad!!!!!

Hey guys, I thought I'd put some pics of mine in here. The pics of it with the snorkel hood are about 10 or so years old and it now has the cowl hood on it. I've had several motors in it and, right now, it has a pump gas 434 sbc in it.http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/l...k/Mvc-010f.jpg

OK, thanks. I'm not the most computer-friendly individual, so I figured that I did good just getting the pics on here.
As far as the low-mount alt. goes, yes, it fit without doing anything to the frame.

Re: How about some pics of High Performance haulers.

cool is that a stardard size alt.

nxtruck 07-12-2009 08:42 AM

Re: How about some pics of High Performance haulers.

Re: How about some pics of High Performance haulers.

Re: How about some pics of High Performance haulers.

no issues gave me more ground clearance over my old truck headers
guess i should say if your looking at the last side pic thats my old headers and exhaust setup
they were small tube dynomax headers/w x pipe and flowmasters

hey man. sweet truck! I see you are running coil overs in the rear.. is the rear frame narrowed? my 71 project is heading in the same direction. I just wanted to know how you got those big wheels and tires under that thing. is the inside of the bed tubbed at all? got any rear suspension pics?? thats awesome :metal:

Re: How about some pics of High Performance haulers.

thanks john what i did was notched the frame with some 6'' half tube 3/8'' thick and ordered the shock mount kit from swracecars. as far as the bed i cut the inside and made extentions 8'' wide and then welded the itall back in.i hope this helps you out good luck on your build.http://photos-b.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos..._2954499_n.jpg
