The only robot I remember from 1965 was this one. I saw it everyday when I got home from school.... watched it while eating Chips Ahoy cookies and drinking milk ;).

Not sure what Dr. Smith is doing though in this picture though.... seems a bit unnerving to me.

Danger Will Robinson, Danger, Danger!

I always knew Dr. Smith was a freak

Re: factory 65 chevy assembly picture

I never realized the trucks came from the factory without a rear bumper. But I guess that explains why there are so many diffrent types of rear bumpers.

There ya go. Check out that factory paint break line. I have been wondering where to break it. MORE PLEASE,lol. BTW, those look like body color firewalls also.

OK, another history lesson from factorystock, wood planks and skid strips were always painted Jet Black from the factory.

Re: factory 65 chevy assembly picture

The dealers & mechanics made money selling/installing the rear bumpers (and other accessories), also a new truck sales deal could be sealed by "throwing in" the rear bumper.

Did anyone notice the 62 bubble top belair in the slide show? (8th frame down) I wanted one since high school, and I'm still looking. Very cool slide show.

I just spent the last 1/2 hr watching '63 Chev videos...

I can't thank you fellers enough for posting up those darn things.
I got a kick out of '63 parts 5 & 6...
I have to imagine these were early infomercials..Certainly a brilliant ad campaign.

I can't get enough of this stuff.

Thanks again.....all of you contributors.

You never cease to amaze me, Factorystock! Thank you so much for that. I appreciate all of the work that alot of you do on your wood beds, but this picture is the answer to my prayers. As mine will be a daily driver, I wanted something in the bed that would hold up to hauling and I had no idea they were originally painted black. I'm more than a little excited at this information!:metal:
