In fact it was the tree in the photo. It can be found on Google with a life history and many other photos. We drove through it about 25 years ago in our 46 Ford, man that was fun.

Dang, that's sad...I read a couple articles about it falling, & one mentioned it being almost completely dead & beginning to lean a bit...glad nobody was injured when it came tumbling down!

Pretty sure that the tree in this thread is the Wawona Tree that fell in 1969. (Notice the split going up on the left side of the tunnel and the rock wall.)

From another website:
https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-o...pg?imgmax=1600

"In 1881, a 2,000-year-old giant sequoia called the Wawona Tree in Mariposa Grove, Yosemite National Park, was tunneled, and it became Yosemite's most popular tourist attraction. The tree stood for 88 years, but the brutal assault on her trunk left the tree weakened and she finally collapsed in a storm in 1969. The tree had a height of 227 feet and was 26 feet in diameter at the base. The famous tunnel was 7 feet wide, 9 feet high and 26 feet long at the base. It still lies where it fell, and is now known as the Fallen Tunnel Tree."

I thought they were talking about the one in Leggett, CA that fell.
Chandelier Tree in Leggett, CA
Not to be confused with the other Shrine Drive Thru Tree in Myers Flat, CA
Or the other other Tour-Thru Tree in Klamath, CA
Or the tunnel log
Or the Pioneer Cabin Tree
Or the original drive-through tree made famous in photos of Yosemite National Park, which toppled under a heavy load of snow in 1969.

For the record it was the Pioneer Cabin tree in Calaveras Big Tree State Park that fell recently.

Cal.

There is a "Gateway Chevrolet" in Fargo but I am not familiar with the area.

I agree. Wondering if these trucks are going overseas? Maybe Saudi Arabia? I heard they only trusted red trucks in the desert.

It appears to be a C 20 in the main photo (post # 1126). Taller stance, round rear axle housing and hubcaps protrude outside of rims.

unfortunately don't have any older pictures of our family farm truck that we could find..

these are only about 15 years old but they capture the spirit I think..

I agree. A 4, 5 or 6.

Could be at least as new as a '65, with that White '65 Chevy car just to the left of it.

Look close, there are a lot of Chevys in that picture.

Cool place.
