Re: Meet Ginger.
Did you find that in quarts/gallons or in spray cans?

Re: Meet Ginger.
Dash painted, man that took a lot of paint. I'm going to need a lot more to do the rest of the cab.

Got my white face gauge kit, but he forgot to include the tach. Should have that next week.

Re: Meet Ginger.
Well, I went to pick 'n pull on half price weekend and got me a 2001 Chrysler 300M clock for $2.88! Made a face plate for it and bam!
http://i134.photobucket.com/albums/q..._clockDash.jpg The left hole to set the time is slightly off, but it works. I will replace the gauge lens at some point, mine is pretty messed up with scratches and stuff. |
Re: Meet Ginger.
so how goes the build mate get that cab painted would love to see it

Re: Meet Ginger.
I am working on a center console that fits under the dash and comes out to the shifter. I am trying to put in 2 cup holders and a spot for goodies to keep the dash clean.
My doors are wired up for power locks and work awesome. I still need my alarm, then I can wire it up and install my stereo gear that has been waiting forever to go into SOMETHING. |
Re: Meet Ginger.
Slow progress because other things get in the way. Was bored yesterday, so I took some scrap wood, some pad from my floor, and some vinyl and made a basic center console. I will have to redo it when I put the Muncie M21 in, but this looks cool for now.
http://i134.photobucket.com/albums/q...6-19090612.jpg http://i134.photobucket.com/albums/q...6-19092556.jpg Was going to make a top for it out of finished wood to match my steering wheel. |
Re: Meet Ginger.
Nice. I'm wanting to do something similar for a console. Be sure to show more pics after it's completed. :)

Re: Meet Ginger.
The top will be done similar to this, only I am going to try and fit cup holders in it.

The center counsel you made is great use for that area. Posted via Mobile Device |
Re: Meet Ginger.
Thanks. If I manage to figure out this steering wheel mess, it will pull the interior together and it might actually make sense. There is a theme building, it's just slower than I would like.

Re: Meet Ginger.
Great build man, I'm subscribed. Cant wait to see it all finished up!

Re: Meet Ginger.
Coming along quite nicely.

Re: Meet Ginger.
Thanks, guys. I am way behind where I wanted to be, but life and stuff happens. I still have a lot of parts in waiting and way too many still to order, but with any luck I'll get the interior wrapped up this month and start on the suspension.
Once the interior is done, then comes the suspension and brakes, then engine and trans. The goal is to have it "done" in time for next years shows. |
Re: Meet Ginger.
Minor update. I got the rest of the cab and doors prepped for paint. I will paint this weekend, then install all new weather stripping, route my wires, then the doors can be buttoned up.
Here is a quick mock up of the wheel with the dash color and gauges. http://i134.photobucket.com/albums/q...8-24185025.jpg Still a ton of fab work to do to make it work. But I have 10 switches to play with, so it should keep me a little busy. Next is alarm, stereo, and the cab is finished. Also cleaned up the engine bay wires and started installing the Edelbrock intake and carb. I also have an HEI in waiting. Still need HO alternator and dual battery setup. But the firewall looks a lot better. Before http://i134.photobucket.com/albums/q...7-30143427.jpg I will post after shots when it's all painted. POR15 engine enamel, should be interesting. |
Re: Meet Ginger.
Ginger is shaping up nicely. I like what you've done so far. These build threads help get me motivated to do some work on my projects. Thanks

Re: Meet Ginger.

Re: Meet Ginger.
I just noticed in your siggy that you're running discs front and back.
What did you end up doing for an Emergency Brake? Posted via Mobile Device |
Re: Meet Ginger.
Thanks! Seeing that '65 motivated the hell outa me yesterday. Dino, I might run that column you are using. Might be less work to mount the Caddy wheel.

Re: Meet Ginger.
I don't know about the e brake. The axle I got is missing all the parts for the e brake, so for now I need to figure out what and where to source it. I have a 94 cop car rear.

Re: Meet Ginger.
Subscribed. Were did you get your door lock kit?
|
Re: Meet Ginger.
I just bought 2 actuators off ebay.

Re: Meet Ginger.
Good work! Keep it up!

Re: Meet Ginger.
I will be running the DEI SmartStart VS5000 alarm that works from my phone. It controls the door locks, the alarm, and has SMS/GPS for alerts so you don't have to be near the truck, just have bars.
