It was my long wide bed frame i already had all the bag work and c knotches all done so it was easier to shorten the frame than redo the suburban frame

i got the truck mounts for the main mounting (4 front) and the small square mounts(rear) were in decent shape so i am going to reuse them.

Re: started working on the 65 suburban

only the frt 2 cab mounts work. the ones at the "B" pillar take the small rectangular ones as like the rest of the rear ones

here is the kit i hope to try to clear up weather i can use all 4 mounts the rear mounts seem smaller and are close to the right thickness here is a picture

padresag 09-16-2011 02:15 AM

Re: started working on the 65 suburban

that top insulator for that "b" pillar mount that you have there in the kit is .250" thicker + .125" for the big flat washer than the orig that goes in there inc the flat steel plate which is laminated to the orig. so in total there is .375" difference

Re: started working on the 65 suburban

is the rear of the frame bent, or is it just the way its sitting in that pic???

gostranger 09-16-2011 06:08 AM

Re: started working on the 65 suburban

i am using a truck frame and that rear section is a suburban frame that has been cut off i will cut it to fit and weld it to the truck frame as the rear bumper bolts directly to it so it is just hanging there not attached good eye!!!
