Looking good! Which vintage air kit is that?

Compact 2. Its about the only thing I found that will actually fit. Even the under dash kits were too big due to the lack of room under the dash of these medium duties.

Very cool build! You've got me eyeballin' all the old grain trucks around here.

Thanks for the info, air conditioning is one of the things I want to add to my c50 once it is on the road. Room in the cab has been a concern I've had all along.

You will loose all of your glove box.. Do NOT order the compact kit from Southern Air. It wont work.

I have used Old Air too. Each company has their pros and cons. Actually had trouble with both the Vintage and Old systems and had to return one and have replacement parts for the other. Old Air customer service was lacking.

Remember to buy a small unit as there is no room under a medium duty. You will also have to delete your passenger air vent if you are going with this style.

We are finishing up the small things for our trip to Louisville to the Street Rod Nationals. I got the rear wheel simulators on, the one needed lower ball joint is going in today and an alignment will come this week. New tires all the way around, air horns hooked up, trans temp and back up fuel gauge wired and the bed extension and headache rack converted to bumper stop has been roughed in.

Here is the route I choose for my 1979 C 70. Most everything off a pickup will work except for the under dash unit. It is a little different due to the hump. You would just need to look at a donor pickup and determine if it will fit.

Yes, I've been following your build too. It is looking great. :metal: Some of the 67-72 medium duty had factory a/c but it is super rare.

Keep up the good work guys!

About 900 miles round trip. Mountain roads and flat. It did great. 12 MPG. and all went well. AC was a little temperamental and the new wiper motor gave me some trouble in the 4 hours of pouring rain but aside from that.....what a pleasure to drive. Made 2 tows during the journey and they were a breeze. Rolled into Louisville doing 75 and the wind at our back.

Sounds like a good trip and 12 mpg is pretty decent for a rig that size. How is it for power?

Man AWESOME C50! I'm currently building a wedge bed truck and my Hodge Wedge bed has the 4 ratchet chain hold down things that are welded to the bed diamond deck. Can you post some pics of your FLUSH mounted ones ( mine are a tripping hazard) . I sure would like to cut holes in my deck floor and flush mount mine.
