Thanks everybody. This is the first time restoring anything. I set out with my plans and stuck to them pretty much. The time it takes surprised me that’s for sure.
I definitely have a new appreciation for people that build show cars.
This is a driver, I couldn’t image the time and attention to detail people building show type restorations have!

PS: that duramax would have to be pretty frikken nice ;)

Looks really nice. So how quiet is the cab with all the insulators you put in and sprayed on?

Re: 1991 Crew Cab Short Bed Build

The cab ended up very quiet. Its the first thing people notice when going for a ride.

The wing windows are the only noise (I replaced the gasket but it didnt do much good).

It was definately worth the money now that I've done it. Thanks

I think the Duramax would need to go into this crew.

A Duramax and Allison swap would be bad ass in one of these trucks.

This is probably my #1 most desired truck on this sight.

This thing is so bad, you need a midget in the bed with a boom box playin' Pimpin' music everywhere you go, just so the people know!

I really like it too, and I'm not a 4x4 guy.

Not much of an update but...

My wife has been great/patient with me starting this whole project. She even bought me a brand new owners manual and really nice key chain for xmas....thought that was really cool.

I got the front doors tinted. Tried to match the factory tint on back doors as best as I could.

How are you liking the seats? I am really looking into picking up the same ones for my almost bought rig. Did you happen to see any of the others the guy had? I know the CL post has multiple different ones.... I am going to try and get dark colored ones if possible.

Yup first time. I had help from Trend Auto (a good friend of mine) when I was in over my head.

I like the seats. The guy has seats from Toyota Sienna's and Honda Odyssey's (maybe different now). You can search each of them online to see the different colors (not sure the years but the newest redesign of both makes). Honda made a really dark grey that looked awesome, but I didn't want to change all my interior to match. He has a bunch of these - 100's when I bought them.

Thank you. You're from Northern MT, what town? I was born and raised in Conrad.

It's a small world. I was born and raised in Texas but since I have been in Montana I have lived in: Shelby, Kevin, Sunburst, and Sweetgrass. We ride at the track outside of Conrad from time to time.

You working oil field or wind farm...lol just guessing? Good to meet you.

Next time you're in Conrad and need a good (actually crappy) cup of coffee stop in at Tom's Service Center (Called MRC - I think). It's my Dad's station.

What size tire and wheel did you go with? How much lift do you have? I was thinking of 35"s on my CC SRW build.

Re: 1991 Crew Cab Short Bed Build

Not much new. Just been driving it. I did get a stereo installed though.

I wanted something a little more than just speakers but not over the top. Nice and clean. This is what I ended up with...

Infinity 3002cfx 3.5" (dash)
Kicker KS60 6.5" (door)
Kicker KS693 6x9" (behind seat)
Pioneer TS-SW841D 2-8" (subs)
Lightning Audio LA-51000 (amp)
Pioneer 6600BT (deck)

I think these will change eventually don't like the spacer, I'm thinking it needs to be tapered???
