I'm talking to the rim maufacture about back spacing and they think a 18" x 10" with an offset of 4.25 will fit in the rear. the distance between the axel flange (with the disk on) to the closest frame is 5" and i have 8 " to the outside of the fender... what do you guys think of this rim style? billit specialitys.... is it too getto!!

ok we ordered the tires. i asked dean from http://www.hotridesbydean.com/ to make a 7 am house call to mesure my offest. he of course came by and did the mesurements. i'm getting the rims above 9" wide x 18" (for the back) with the bfgoorich kdw tires
http://www.bfgoodrichtires.com/overv...-a-kdw/22.html
he also is ordering the rim to have what he calles a fat lip. no it's not from asking for a discount it's the edge of the rim where the beed meets the tire is rounded instead of flanged... you can look at bilit specilitys website for more info

in the mean time i'm installing those model a tail lights in the bed. the boy and i cleaned and painted the rear bumper and installed it as close as possible to the bed. i kinda like the flat black look...

Yeah, I could tell. It's still gonna look nice sitting down on those wheels. I've had 3-4 different ideas for wheels on my '54. They all may look good, but they all will make the truck look different.

well i've been working on that steering for days it seems. i had to order a new idler berring from www.ididit.com since my 3 year old lost my flaming river berring (at least thats what i tell my self). so after aligning and testing i finally came up with someting that worked. man this wasn't easy but as far as i can tell it doesn't bind...

Re: mylow53 build

Nice work.

I looks like it must have been fun. What are you using for linkage to connect to your trans? I saw a nice once one from Kugal Komponents. The one from Kogal uses rods where the one offered by Ididit is a cable.

I need to hook my sterring up yet, but mine will be a straight shot.

Looks good.

there in lies my problem. since i changed shops the original steering colom didn't come with any linkage. i bought a locar version (that uses rods) but that doesn't have the linkage arm that comes off of the end of the colom just before the ujoint. i'm planning on fabing one up. since im guessing on it's size i'm sure ill make a cupple of versions.... and no it wasn't fun i'm so worried about the idler berring comming loose while i'm doing 70 in la traffic..... at least it will be a closed casket funeral...

Hey mylow53, you have made some great progress since the last time I checked in on your build. Nice work on the steering shaft.
