Re: 67 SWB 4x4
Well I better get the other door back on......
Actually I really appreciate it but we are not there yet, about a week away with the final cut and buff. My partner's wife has a secretary that is a professional swim suit model, and she is going to pose with it. Hopefully they will be PG enough to show.........well I really hope they are XXX....... |
Re: 67 SWB 4x4
send me those photos to review
Pics don't have to be perfect but one overall shot, one interior and one engine would be great... Post them on that TOTM thread once you are ready... The poll starts April 24th so he will need them by then. |

Swim suit model has not been scheduled yet, will advise.
May cause a divorce.......... I will let my wife drive the 67 SWB 6 cylinder cruiser. My daughter's build is 70 Road Toad on the 4x4 projects. This one is mine. Danny finished the cut and buff today. All that is left is to remount the tank, we Raptored it, speedo cable, charge the A/C, mount the windshield wipers, run a new copper line for the oil prs, and run the line for the vacuum gauge. I painted a duplicate glove box lid, one with the 4x4 decals, and one without. |
Re: 67 SWB 4x4
Lookin' good!

Re: 67 SWB 4x4
did the raptor come out like you wanted? I am planning on doing the underside of the cab, wheel wells and tank now...
|
Re: 67 SWB 4x4
Yes it did.
The more I use it the more I like it. |
Re: 67 SWB 4x4
I assume that it's durable? compared to rhino or line-x?
|
Re: 67 SWB 4x4
I still will not say that they are as durable as the top 2 (rhino & linex) but for the underside of a vehicle and such, they will hold up fine. My 2 cents
I have used just about every kind of DIY bedliner products except for Al's and Raptor. Out of all of them that I used, I like SEM bedliner the best, but Raptor has got to be close to how SEM works. There are others too that I have used, Grizzly Grip (Rough like Linex, Gritty) Herculiner (Ok) Dupli-color (Terrible) SEM (more Rhino like, rubbery feeling) Sorry, didn't mean to take away from the thread, just helping others. Re: 67 SWB 4x4
We have not tried any other products like this.
I do not like the type that stay soft or rubbery. They tend to chalk with time and heat, and we have heat in South Texas. But this is on the bottom of the car, protected from UV. Raptor allows me to wipe the car down with a damp towell and it is like new. It is hard, like an epoxy, which I think it is, and gets harder with age. A negative is you can not blast this stuff off. It will grind off if you need to repair a panel, and you can shoot back over it. I was not sold on the first car, but could see the advantage of the inside fenderwells not getting rock chips. After we built that car, I knew it needed to be on both sides of the front fender wells, hood bottom, cab bottom, bed bottom, and gas tank. For a daily driver I would even put it on the door sill to keep the paint from being scratched up, some of the 4x4s are pretty tall and hard to get into. Add to that the battery tray, and maybe the radiator support. It will not protect from a boulder hit, but it will protect from rock trash off the tires, and it will protect the metal from corrosion. I should be ready to post final pics the end of this week, and will show all the places I used it. |

Well guys, I am going to post this one finished.
It needs a few details, and a few bugs worked out, but it is down to just a couple of hours at most. For MSGROSS, the good pics have NOT been taken yet, will advise.......... The red vette started the color scheme. They are all the same color, the 4x4 is off a little but should fade soon to the same colors. Need less to say these were spur of the moment. When we shoot the good ones I will post them. One left to go! |
