Thanks!

I don't know for sure what the deal is with the rear bumper. I don't know how far out they should be but my bed is about 1" from the cab so I am going to try and slide the bed forward about a 1/4" and see how it looks.

Oh ya, I checked my rear bumper with the new brackets and it's about 3/8 off the box.

Re: '63 GMC Project

Yeah it's an actual shiftknob, not something I'm making into one. it comes drilled out and a threaded insert pressed in. It also comes with a adapter of your choice. I got it here. hotrodshiftknob.com. Check out the link to House O' Speed while you're there. Thier logo has a 64-66 Suburban on it.

Thanks for the measurement Delmo! I really appreciate it.

It's kinda funny, when I opened the box I could see the fangs and front legs through the bubble wrap and instantly got the heeby geebies.

Thanks Dino, that means a lot coming from you! The truck was a leaf spring truck so maybe that is why it's closer.

Pretty close huh? I got mine at a swap meet for about $175 brand new. Summit sells the exact same thing for $275. I plan on getting some Cal Customs valve covers to match the finned top.

By the way your truck is completely BAD@$$!

The camel spider is pretty cool, we used to make them and scorpians fight in Iraq. That's a small one, and those things could run like the wind.

I guess this one couldn't run fast enough ;)

My seat is just about ready to go in, just need to tidy up the inside a little. We got the motor fired for the first time also and it sounds really good, little bit of lope to the cam. Tomorrow I'm taking the driveshaft to get shortened. It's getting really close now. Hopefully I will be able to drive it to the last show of the year in 2 weeks.

im sure u mentioned this before but where did u get all of ur suspension stuff, it looks sick and im looking at all possible options for bagging my truck
nice bulid too, i like when people lay the longbeds in the weeds

Re: '63 GMC Project

Thanks guys.

The header wrap is DEI Titanium. Don't know how good it is but it looks cool and doesn't need sprayed or coated at all.

The air ride is a P-51 crossmember kit for the front and a Superlift wishbone kit for the rear, both made by *****************.

Looking good

What alternator bracket is that? I'm curious since it is a passenger side with a short water pump. Speaking of alternator, it is me or is there something wierd in this pic?

I'm seeing 2 belts on the alternator, but only one makes it to the water pump and crank pulley

Yeah, the alternator fan is chrome but the pulley is clearcoated aluminum. The bracket and pulleys are made by March.

We actually made it out to the show yesterday. The temp gauge reads hot and the tranny hasn't been fully tested yet so we trailered it but I at least got to cruise it into the show under it's own power. The exhaust is loud and mean sounding so it got peoples attention as it rolled by. I actually had a small crowd of people around by the time I got out of the truck. The air ride fills and dumps extremely fast, not allowing much fine tuning for ride height so I am going to change to a slightly lower pressure switch and instal adjustable mufflers on the dump valves.

I couldn't find my camera so all I have is a cell phone pic.

Thanks firenuttz

but why is the pulley then reflected at the edge. it does look off kilter for some reason, it is an illusion of some sort
