Today addded a mr gasket 929 kit to my ingition.

new weights, bushes and springs. used the softest springs, because I mainly drive on LPG and that can take faster advance and less advance.

I am gettin close to finishing my HID Projector Retro.

The Morimoto Mini H1 projectors seem to fit my headlight bowls perfectly and I tested them 2nite in the backyard (yes, in the Netherlands, we have small backyards)...

Take that out, ASAP. Those plastic bushings wear out fast, then the weights start egging out on the posts. If anything, just use those weights with the stock springs and bushings.

he Bruiser, thanks man!

are you saying that about the bushings from personal experience?

68Timber 01-18-2012 04:27 PM

Re: Suburban K20 1986 Silverado

Yes, and by the time mine was worn out I had tossed the factory weights and springs. I bought new kits to keep it going but they never lasted long.

kikkegek 01-18-2012 04:45 PM

Re: Suburban K20 1986 Silverado

thanks but the curve of the factory springs is way too slow. I need fast advance, because I drive LPG 99.9% of the time.

I'll check the bushings regurlarly, thanks for the warning.

Re: Suburban K20 1986 Silverado

You can use the lighter Mr. Gasket springs with the stock weights and bushings. Hold on to them if you still have them.;)

I still got them. I never throw away stuff, because here in Europe things are a lot harder to get then over there with you guys. But I think the stock weights were worn out..

Re: Suburban K20 1986 Silverado

shop called today.

they think the engine runs supersmooth....thats the good news, hahaha.

they will replace the headgasket and while they are at it, they will check if I need to replace the heads with refurbished ones (new seals, flattened, etc)...probably will...

and then everything is fine again....pretty happy about that.

got the car back! And everything is fine again. We were lucky, because they discovered that one of the old heads had two cracks in it. On was not repairable. Theb didnt charge us extra.

glad we can cruise again!
