I finaly scored a cowl vent arm bracket and lever system for my cowl vent and had a few hours this morning to play around with the burb. It didn't have a handle, so I'm going to use this hand file replacement wooden handle. I also fabbed a bracket and mounted my vintage kleenex holder. I was torn between leaving the original kleenex box or opening it and seeing how soft they were 50 years ago. Still soft :)

I found the Avion in Montana , but the KIT Teardrop was manufactured in CA and found its way to Portland OR most of its life. Scotty trailers (think canned ham) were built out near the East Coast, they are great little trailers, lots of nostalgia and close to you.

With the new job comes new tasks. Our Body shop had an overflow area that we turned into an estimating bay for foul weather estimates, but quickly became a storage room. My first thought was to clean it up, and hang a couple cool items. Our main Dealership just went through a remodel and the sign company that was hired by GM came out to remove the old lot signs, destroy them and install new ones. Well, we saved a couple from immenent death and repurposed them in the new estimating bay. the large one is back lit and looks killer.

Haha! "Props" to you. You could paint the tiger's maw on the front fenders and hang some header pipes out the driver's fender.

East coast stuff.... it's getting tougher and tougher to find old equipment in any shape here. Humidity and weather take their toll plus anything that's been on the road has probably been exposed to salt. The sheer number of people works against us, too. New homes are always being built so old farms and large old lots where these pieces are likely to rest are being bought up. There's always someone looking for a quick buck and scrap metal places are everywhere. Neighborhoods spring up and new residents become "concerned citizens" that cause trouble for people storing old vehicles claiming they're an eyesore, or dangerous, or environmental hazards, or most often against town ordinances (I can only have two unregistered vehicles on my property... anything else must be inside or behind a fence and is required to be a project that's obviously being worked on). And, so many people have seen cable and TV shows that highlight the billion dollars "auction value" for old piece of junk that they think their own piece of junk is worth one billion and one.

Tell everyone you know that West of the Mississippi has fallen to the plauge, storms, zombies and mad cow disease. Marshall law was in affect, but when they closed the White House all Govt. officials moved out here and have taken over. Tree huggers everywhere, no guns on the shelves, obeicity and everyone has lost their job. Black mold , wet and rainy 24/7.

Cruised Mcminville this weekend and found an old service shop to test out the new phone camera. Nothing I could see through the dusty glass inside, but thought it was a cool background. 13,000 miles on the new engine since December. Not bad for an old 250 :) I love driving this thing, but miss wrenching. Can't wait for fall to start a new project!

We bought our 56 pickup so we could take our dogs on cruises as well.
They aren't allowed in ou 68 Camaro.

Thanks for the compliments guys. The phone makes it look pretty good! just overlook the rock chips, hood alignment, bent front bumper and over rider and dog claw scratches from trying to jump into open windows when it's parked.

nvrdone-what shows? I don't have anything planned yet for the weekend after labor day and the Burb likes to stretch its legs. A cruise in Washington sounds cool

That burb just grows on me every time I see another photo of it. I've never been much of an ad on the geegaw guy preferring the clean simple look but everything on that rig blends in to make one complete package.

Fish - the only show I know of up here is on the 7th - 8th. End of the world in Ocean Shores. I haven't been but I hear its huge. You might do a Google search for info. Bruce.

Hey, your the one who got me thinking metallic paint would look cool and now I want to break it down this winter to reshoot it! I think a frame laying bagged out patina truck would be simpler!
