Nice find Allan. Those lifts come in handy. Especially with body work, and brake work. You will still be wanting a regular lift though, for under car work. Don't get me wrong, I'm not knocking it, or you for getting it. ;)

Yeah, it will be better than nothing. Just trying to figure out which hydraulic fluid to use. The guy I got it from has the manuals, but has to locate them. Made several phone calls and searching the web. I call our equipment salesman and he said to run AW32 hydraulic. What do ya'll know about it.

I was just rousting you a little to see if your awake.

Good score Alan. When I go down to SC in Aug i'm going to have to stop buy and see your truck in person, and 198's truck. I've been chopping up the frame of my truck to build the back. I'm like you Alan I got a second job, 66 galaxy 500. He wants the frame and motor built, so extra money for the truck!

He's right. You should use Hydraulic Fluid. It doesn't create foam.

Right now I'm wishing I was up where you are. It's 100 with 150% humidity. Trying to clean the shop out and it looks like I'm washing down the floor from sweat dripping off of me.

There are different kinds. Of coarse the AW32 is the more expensive one. About $10/gal it looks like I'll need 4-5 gal. It's bone dry.

I was wrong about the fluid. The guy found the manual and called to tell me the capacity and type. It holds 6 qts of SAE 10W non detergent, non foaming hydraulic.

Got the shop cleaned up today and rolled the truck out in the sun for the first time.

http://i606.photobucket.com/albums/t...b/DSC00311.jpg

Got the parts truck in and pulled the cab. It had some extra weight in it (column, glass, heater, clutch linkage etc) which threw off the balance, but it worked fine.

This rearend has about 20 feet on it and decided to start leaking.

I decided to just give these hoods away. I had to move them out of the shop. I don't have any plans for them. Thought I could help someone out. They need work, but might be better than what you have. I will list in for sale section under Various parts for sale in my link.

Of course that is also the drawback, that smooth of a paintjob and everyyyyy body wants to touch it (with their sticky, greasy little fingers ;-)

True Dat - my buddy put $30k into his black paint and body work (on his 65' SS Chevelle) and last summer at a street show down town some homeless dude did too quick of a turn next to it with a back pack, with huge buckles attached.

Took a couple of grand off that car's value in an instant. :sumo:

Man it reached about 110 yesterday with ridiculous humidity. We could only pull off 3 hours in the shop even with a fridge full of water.

It's been nice here. But the past few days it was too windy. Temps in the high 70's to 80.

I need to sell the ones I bought before I get any new ones. BTW which engine perches are you running?

I remember the old car shows when nobody touched or even got close to the cars. I've been noticing lately that's not always the case now-a-days. For the most part most people know proper manners at a car show. Hate to have to put a car alarm on at a car show.

I completely understand. I just love it when we get a rain shower then the sun comes out. It's like a steam room with all of the steam coming up off the pavement and rolling in the shop.

Yeah I get home after a long hot day and spend some time with the family and dry out. It takes alot of motivation to go out and do it again.
