'63 cluster before & after paint - spare piece of sheetmetal and autometer gauges. Kept the layout similar to stock, plus the tach. No turn signal indicators, I wired them into the two left and two right gauges so they blink.

Here is what I am doing in my 1964 GMC
Ordered the Dakota Digital gauges from Travis at Pro Performance yesterday. They are intended for a 1964-67 Pontiac GTO, Lemans, Tempest VHX Instruments P/N VHX-64P-GTO-C-R (Carbon Fiber/Red) Not much to choose from for A GMC but I think with a rubber mallet and some caulking I can make them fit. They come altogether in one self contained unit with just a CAT5 cable running from the control module to the back of the unit, the module can be mounted up to 6 feet away. Length: 18-3/4” Height: 4-3/8” Depth: 1-1/16” Gauge opening sizes from Left to right: 3-7/8” / 4” / 4” / 3-7/8” I plan on having a brushed metal dash panel laser cut to fit the stock outer bezel with opening for the new gauges. I priced out Classic Instruments, and Autometer to try and fit into the stock opening and the Dakota gauges worked out to be less money and offered more functions. |

I was thinking something along these lines. Price isn't bad and full electronic. Would work out good when I eventually install a 4L80E trans since there is no speedometer drive cable coming out of the trans.

Re: Any Dash Ideas
I've acquired a dash out of a 1960 GMC that I plan on putting in my truck. I want to have air conditioning as well. I've searched and came up empty, but do any of you guys have a pic of a factory GMC A/C dash?
