i was thinking about $800 for posi, rotors, calipers, hoses, axles and gears.

$800 is dirt cheap for a new posi unit and gears, nevermind axles and bearings, and all your brake parts, ect.

just an eaton posi carrier goes for about $400- 500 bucks, the another $250 for gears...

thats a great deal if you can do it all for that price!

Re: my 68 shortbed build

i have also decided to keep the truck 6 lug and go with some 20'' weels instead of 18s, but i will still be converting to 4 way power disk brakes

Re: my 68 shortbed build

:fb: today i got the bed off and all the major body work on the cab inside and out is done. im gunna shoot one more coat of primer on it, block it out then paint the cab. then onto the front clip, bed and doors.

Man, that looks great!!! I bought the original color to paint my truck because the interior was in good shape and I wasn't going to take it down very far, but at the point I'm at right now I could have changed the color. Something like this is what I would have gone with!
