Hello Pete, truck is looking great! Question: where did you get your 3/4 anodized power brake booster? Restored or new?

Thanks....I really wish that was anodized, it was painted to look like the anodized coating and the outcome isn't too bad.

Thanks a lot guys I really appreciate the encouraging comments. Again, couldn't do this build without the help of the folks here.

More progress made. Pics show a member rebuilt speed warning manual throttle tach/vac 80lb oil gauge cluster and installed rebuild tilt and am/fm. Motor back with a stock build/balance. Had a NOS block heater installed that I got from a Canadian member. Jason, I made sure the block code wasn't decked off - thanks! The exhaust manifolds are powdercoated. Have the Qjet back from a rebuild at Sean Murphy induction. The NP205 and 700r4 are installed. The NP205 is painted in the correct-ish Chrysler red. An OEM Blazer skid plate will be added shortly.

Help me out - what needs attention to original specs?

Um, it's too nice! :mm:

 Seriously, you're making it so nice. These trucks weren't this nice new. Keep at it, this will be a really cool truck with the rare NOS odd stuff you've found for it.

The shocks are the only thing that's apparent to me. You're doing a great job on the resto. Pete!

Pete, looks great. I wouldn't bother changing it but if you want it to look true stock, the timing tab should be the silver/gray plated color. Also, what is that oil fill tube on the rear driver side of engine?

Man, i need to get crackin on my K20, hope it turns out this nice!

Pete, i know for the sake of originality you should have the side mount on the NP205, but i would recomend ditching it. they put a lot of weird torque on the drivetrain. the twist has been known to crack adapters and transmission cases before.

Pete, in an earlier post you mentioned something about the grommet the for the tach wires. Do all cabs have the hole for the tach wire or did you have to drill it? I ask because I added a tach to my 72 as well.

I'd really like to install a nice set of GM/Delco shocks but couldn't find the correct #'s so gave up. If I see a set for 4wd I'd grab 'em

LOL! Yeah I get it - that's why I'm keeping the K10 an ugly duckling so I'm not afraid to haul a bed full of junk

Thanks! - that's an example of the little things I want to do right (It's a sickness). I looked at pics of the survivor motor I got from Paul and Jason Duncan and the timing tab looked to orange but I'm not certain. That oil tube goes to the 700r4 tranny - good eye!

Good to know bud - I'll look into this down the road for sure especially if I ever build up the K10. BTW - I should have your parts out soon I've been buried in work.

Yep, the factory tach trucks had a 3/4" hole in the firewall - you can see the dimples next to the harness block on the driver side where the hole would go here's a borrowed member pic that shows the location:

Had the mileage set to zero and the oil pressure gauge converted for use with an electrical sending unit....no more oil line in the cab...keeps the OEM look though.
