1. Roof repair product, made from butyl rubber with adhesive and a foil top overlay. (just like dynamat)----cannot remember the brand but it was in the roofing section of the store... 2. over that we placed duct insulation (frigiking) closed cell foam with adhesive plus foil top. The first product just killed all the rattling and boom of the cab, then the top cover of the insulation kept all the heat out and helped with noise. I think the cost was for both products ($1.25 per square foot total of 2.50 per ft.) we also sprayed the underside of the cab with black a 3m product that kind of looked like asphalt and it remained soft for a while. All in all a much quieter truck with great heat and cold resistance.... and no smell 2 years later with 13,000 miles on the truck here are some pictures: http://kieth.smugmug.com/Trucks/66-GMC/i-9kPMbv6 hard to see but it is 2 layers, each layer had the seams covered with silver tape before covering with the final layer of insulation. It's done, I am just cleaning up the welds, then going to strip it and primer the whole cab again.

Re: LT1 Burbs 65 Stock SW Build
looks really good, question did you use the nuts to hole down the skin when you welded it in, or are they just up there?? just wondering cause they look to find in the lip groove pretty good!

Re: LT1 Burbs 65 Stock SW Build

Frame porn, changed my valve covers over so they were on the correct side also. I ordered up an aluminized exhaust system so it should be here late this week and on it goes.
