Thanks mcbassin appreciate it!! Knomadd yep I'm still here, just doing little things here and there, nothing picture worthy lately so now that there is something to see I'll add a few soon as I can!!Going to add the carpet, and a new radio and also thinking about putting a new Edelbrock intake on it to see if it will wake this thing up a bit!!

Well ordered the new GMCPauls door seals and the rubber door channel runners for the back over the top yesterday and hes already shipped them!! Got out early this morning and took off the old door seals and wire brushed them all down and saw the original blue and white colors! Also POR-15 on all the surface rust areas for good measure and shes ready for the new door seals. Now for the inevidable problem of the door slamming issue we all see with the new seals , wish me luck!!:haha:

Got the new door seals in, they went in like a dream. Of course you gotta slam the door hard enough to break the windows in the house next door but there on!!

Looks great! Reminds me how bad I need new weatherstrip and glass runners in my 'Burb.

jmorri34 06-22-2014 05:05 PM

Re: The "Ole 69er"

Thanks guys, yea the weatherstrip was super easy, 10 minutes a side to put on minus removal and cleanup which wasnt to bad. Boy is it hard to close the doors though .... I know its a common thing but man I hate slamming the doors. The radio is great so far, I love it, the OP put 5 inch holes in the doors for speakers and I didnt want to cut anymore so I used them. Its a little hard to hear going down the road but just have to turn it up a little louder and its fine plus once I get the a/c installed next year it will be easier. Gonna be a rough summer with no a/c but you can bet your A$$ it'll be the last one:lol: by the way GMCPauls glueless weatherstrip is THE way to go if you or anyone needs any. Use a rubber mallet lightly and it goes right on and conforms to all the curves and no damage!!

Well got all the new channel runners replaced in the doors. Now if only the bottom seals were against the outside of the window she would be totally sealed:haha::haha: Anyhow the doors have all new rubber minus the quarterglasses which are still good. Here is some pictures of the new seals!

Started tearing down the top of the motor to put new intake, distributor and wires and new valve covers. Have the new autometer gauges for the dash and the last of the old wiring is going with the install of the new turn signal switch!!
