Thanks Heath. I tried to do it 2 other times with 22 gauge and it's just way too thin. It didn't turn out as good as I would have liked but I think I can tweek it here and there and it will be fine.

Yep, it is a lot of work. As far as keep it even, I set my angle protractor like this one here at 45deg. and scribed a line all the way around the edge then held it in place and tacked it. then used vise grips to force it to the
line. It was slow going. BTW, it isn't close to perfect, but I have it close enough a skim coat of filler will smooth it nice.

Yep, I came this -><- to just doing the 90 degree on this one too. But, I figured heck, it's only metal and this will be a driver not a show truck.;)

Thanks! I hope to get back on it pretty soon. We are covered up with snow and ice right now and I don't have heat in the shop. I was looking at the cab the other day and found a little rust spot on the lower part of the driver side cab corner. I wasn't planning on doing anything to them except knocking out a few dents. Now it looks like I may be cutting and welding. I wish I could have sand blasted the whole thing to find all the thin areas. Maybe I will on the next build.

Re: 1969 Short Wide

At least I have a small heater... not much, but it does allow me to get out in this weather. We have about 6" of snow. I really need to get my cab inside soon to start working on it, now that my frame is almost done. I am still nervous about the welding... practice makes perfect, right? (or is it practice makes work for someone else ) Keep it up! Maybe you will be driving it to the Spring meet?

Thanks! don't sweat the welding you will get the hang of it I'm sure. It will take some major work and some $$ to get it done by spring.

Sorry guys this one got moved back on the list. We have been doing some body work on the 86 slow progress on it right now. I have been picking up parts here and there but haven't really done much on the 69 for a while. I will get back on it when we get the 86 on the road.....I know my prioritys are all jacked up.Pics Here

This time of year is prime time for our fishing addiction. It will tie up just about every Saturday till around June. We just got back from Falcon Lake in South Texas during spring break,

Thanks guys!

I have to admit we have been slacking on the projects but they really never stray far from my imagination. I have some killer ideas for this project just need to get back on it. It's just so hard for me to push aside my first "hobby". Unfortunately, my son is just as addicted as me, he will spend 8-12 hours on the water a day right with me just looking for that next big one to bite, he never complains. But will tell me if he thinks we aren't doing the right thing or in the right area.

Thanks Jojo! You need to go, but don't stop working on your project like me because of it. I have fished every Saturday for about 2 months it seems. Won't really see any change until it gets really hot here.
