Your thinking is right there, and I will need to know the Diamaters of the hub on the axle, and the hole on the wheel so I can make em right. What I am going to do is machine a 1.5" thick spacer with two 6 hole patterns on it, then I am going to counter bore every other hole on each side so as that you can bolt the spacer individually to the axle, torque it properly, and then with a new set of wheel studs you can mount the wheel directly to the spacer instead of trying to find ridiculously long wheel studs.

Also this will make it easier to mount and unmount everything.

True, but stock GM wheels are still hub centered as well, helps with ride.
And I'd bet be stronger than long wheel studs too.

The OD of the axle hub is 9.5cm. Can't get the callipers to extend out inside the wheel to measure it's hole

I got the rims for free (Off a used trade-in, pitted chrom on the inside of the wheels, but not on the face. And one has curb rash), and that tire was just a worn one used for mockup. Haven't bought any tires yet.

see if you can get the measurement some how, look at things like pop cans, what ever else you can find that might fit snug in that hole. It needs to be a snug fit, but if you can't get it, then we will need to find some one with that model of truck to give us a measurement.

Still can't find anything. I'm waiting for my dad to get home though, haven't talked to him yet. The wheels are off a late model GM truck, one of the GMT-800s. I'll see if I can find someone.

Doh, your right 1/2" studs, I was measuring outside diameter.

My dad is going to bring home a set of calipers from work that can measure the inside diameter of the rim tomorrow, so I'll get that then.

I've been running wheel adaptors for about 3 years on my Sonoma. Seems I get more vibration. I'm not saying don't use them, I saying make sure they are EXACT!

Tx have you considered trading those wheels for a set that will fit better? Give a call to Tire & Wheen Connection and see what they can do for you. They are located on 1960 beside Beck and Masten Pontiac/GMC

At first when I saw the brown box, with a big CPP (Classic Performance Parts, where the rotors I bought come from) logo on the side, I was excited that it was my rotors! That the CST10 would be on the road before the end of the break. Rip the box open, and it's my springs and a turnsignal lense I ordered from Classic Parts, in the CPP box. Why? Classic parts sells the CPP springs and ships them in a CPP box. Deception!

But, here are my new headlights:

They aren't normal old school sealed beams despite the looks. Their really tricky. Their made to use modern halogen bulbs, while keeping the classic looks. And also have a small running light too:

Eventually I may toss a red or orange filter on the bulb and have some trick looking lights while cruising, EVIL EYES

Nice stance, a slight rake. The rear will sit a tad bit lower once the springs settle in, but other than that, it's damn close to the road!

Fixed all the exterior light problems, bunch of bad grounds and bad connectors.

Just waiting on CPP...

Another member offered to buy them, and I shipped them out just today. CPP rotors came in, this saturday I'm hitting up Charlies for all the 73-87 parts and starting on it this weekend. Next weekend is a 3 day weekend so should be able to get a lot done then.

It's mainly seat belts, tires, horn (fixing it), brakes, fixing the carb (runs like hell), and some odds and ends to get it on the road. I'm way ahead of my 2000 budget. I have 1400 or so left after the past two weeks, and brakes aren't going to break the bank either.


Also got a new sony expode head unit for 21 bucks after gift cards :lol: I think it aught to do better than the old sony tape deck player already in. A friend is going to hook me up with a pair of 6x9s to replace the clarions that are now peeling off the door.. :lol:

Cool man, I can't decide what to do with my stereo..... it's nice but it doesn't work, and I have no idea how to fix it. Can't wait to see this thing get on the road! And dang, someone beat me to those springs.... I was going to offer to buy them

It's all pretty easy to toss in a head unit if your starting from scratch Like I'll have to. The wiring that's in it is redneck at it's finest.

Opinions? Found these in six lug 16 x 8, and if they have the back spacing I need I'll see if Tire and Wheel connection has any in stock and trade.. Still probably needing a spacer (have to measure backspacing on the steelies I have now and compare) but I dig them a good bit more than the Niche Throttles I have sitting around. My only gripe with the design is the fake rivets, makes the wheels almost ghetto style..

Congrats on a nice truck. It looks really nice. I am "ALMOST" finished with my power plant swap on my 68, "ALMOST" is the family inside joke. Hopefully when we get them done, we can cruise somewhere.
