Bumper looks clean i think those run as much as a roll pan.. hmm cant decide
Stop Obama very funny haha.
De walt makes the best power tool.

idk what your plan is for the gas filler .. are you planing on hacking up the side of your bed?

oldblue1968chevy 03-29-2010 10:18 PM

Re: "Rice Rocket'

PLEASE DONT GET A ROLL PAN PLEASSSEEE get a dang bumper pleasee lol

threeonthetree 03-29-2010 10:24 PM

Re: "Rice Rocket'

haha whats wrong with roll pans? i think they clean up the rear end. then i need a chrome front bumper.. the junkyard has one for 70 bucks.. idk tho

full charged battries haha. all we have is dewalt. i have a nice grinder from dewalt i just like the name.

ID BE SCARED TO HACK IT UP TO you should consider welding in a panel like that, on a junk bed before doing it on your bed .. you know about my driver side fender.

its all about the heat

Re: "Rice Rocket'

i know it! I may try to make a sidemarker filler first, and if that dont work out do the fuel door...whatta bout taking it to a bodyshop and let them do it...dad thinks it'll look good but idk im just scared it'll turn out like crap and lots of bondo and I wont like it...

idk i just like the look/practicality of bumpers...roll pans look like they belong on s10's. i paid 80 for rear chrome bumper and brackets plus 40 in gas for my truck (like 1hr 15 min. drive) fun fun though.

threeonthetree 03-29-2010 10:41 PM

Re: "Rice Rocket'

are you gonna take it to a body shop was that the plan?
or where you gonna try to do it on your own?
what about those reflector fillers. like you open up the reflector on the back left side.
i think lmc sells a kit for it.

yeah roll pans look kinda tacky depends how you install them

Going to muffler shop to see if he will weld on a gas filler (how can I get gas fumes off/out if he says no lol). Then to carquest to return my old pos starter and get my 70$ back. pics of tire tonite when i get home ps noone was injured

Re: "Rice Rocket'

no 15/8 fronts 5 llug rear 6 lug

Whats soem stuff i can do to make it look better? (not very $)

edit, saw a SWEET 1 ton 4x4 454 orange fleetside truck at the carwash, this thing was badddddd! Talked to the owner awhile said it was a frame off he did about 12 years ago, took him about 2 years. Looks great said he doenst get it out much but had to haul a load of something with it, no pics I think my gf got some i'll try to get for yall. It was orange with 7172 frontend. very niceeee He said he had a 70 4x4 if I was interested I said no at first (dont need more projects) but as I drove off I regret not getting his number (would love to swap my body on 4x4 frame

Glad to see you're still plugging along at your truck. It really impresses me to see someone of your age to have the ambition and drive that you do. Truck is coming along very well.

What did you ever do with that old Ochre parts truck you had?

I haven't finished one yet. I've been too busy with work and family to do anything at all.

Well I got T boned by a moron today. Was leaving the gas station and some guy came zipping around the gas pump and slammed me. split the trailing arm slid the rearend back, slid the bed down and back and scared me. I was fine thankfully! Wasnt my fault. But have a bad feeling he didnt have insurance (expired tags, didnt have insurance on him but claimed to have full coverage)...and just didnt look like he'd have insurance. Saying he does have insurance, what should I do, i have receipts and pictures of everything. Will they total it out being a 40 year old truck, or can I pass it as a classic on its way to a restoration (truth). thanks guys! Hopefully I get lots of insurance and maybe find a swb or
4x4. Wanna tear into it but cant until insurance gets at it.

oldblue1968chevy 04-07-2010 05:04 PM

Re: "Rice Rocket'

Exactly what I was thinking, or a 4x4...

Yes I called the police and they made out a police report, I just hope the other guy had insurance, he claimed to have full coverage...any idea if they'll total it out or what? I have no idea what im doing and dont wanna get shafted..

oldblue1968chevy 04-07-2010 05:23 PM

Re: "Rice Rocket'

Ive got all pics/recipts of everything ive ever done to it rebuilt front/rear suspension BRAND new tires lol starters waterpump brakes and ALOT more stuff I cant even think of right now, pretty much all I lack to make it finished is paint body/motor and some lil stuff.
