I'm planning to put some one-ton axles under it and a divorced transfer case. Leaf Springs with sliders rather than shackles. It has more bondo than it should. Everything I need is easily available except barn door skins. I'm pouring a slab for a 40x32 shop this week for this and other projects. It's a driver and looks good going down the street or from 15 feet away. I ordered 500 dollars worth of stuff from LMC the first couple days I had it like door bumpers, seals, a steering wheel and horn button retainer kit....etc. I'm not really going to focus on the bling until I have the mechanical functionality totally reliable. I do plan to retrofit an AC system under the dash as well as in the back. I'm hoping to design a low profile rear air handler to mount just behind the seat. Since it's a panel I think this is doable.

This was my dads truck, He recently passed away. He got it from a guy right down the road for a new Roof on his house. Before that it was a Lifeguard Truck in San Diego. Originally Truck was special ordered By a company called Plantronics Inc. From waht i can gather they made Headsets for Nasa back in the day.

My $500 68 Panel from 2005 and started back on the repairs. removed the 250 sixer, turbo 400 and full floater axle. replacing with LC9 5.3 liter and a Hydra-Matic 4L65-E 4 speed with 3.73 GM 9.5 14bolt axle.

Has anyone modified the rear cargo doors that will allow it to be opened from inside?

Welcome Highlander Cycles, the more Panels the better!!

As for the rear cargo door opening from the inside...I don't recall anyone posting any interior handle modifications but I could have just missed 'em? I do open my barn doors from the inside quite often and so do my kids although we just reach in the door access hole and actuate the mechanism by hand...it would be better if there were a handle instead though. You have barn doors I assume?

Cheers!
Rob

Thanks Rod. yes barn doors. looking into doing modification with either a stock door assembly or http://shop.phippsproducts.com/images/product_23_lg.jpg something from Phipps shop.

This is my 68 panel I got back in Sept at street rod show in kalamazoo MI during the swap meet. it has the original 250 straight 6 with 3 on the tree all manual brakes and steering. I rebuilt the motor right after I got it cuz it sat a lot and wasn't driven regularly. Here is some pics tc88
