If it will fit, it will work. The one in mine is out of an 85-91 Blazer/Suburban/Old body style P/U. You can also get a universal pump kit that puts a pump inline to your squirters. Your call on which one would work best, but it is some food for thought in case you find a reservoir that will work, but it doesn't have a pump in it, you can go with the universal inline pump.

That may be the way to go! My truck came with the bracket but the bottle was missing. I removed the bracket for my headlite relays, but I could easily relocate that stuff and use an original style bottle with an inline pump. Thanx!!

On my '66 Suburban I used the original reservior, but added a '85 full size van washer pump. In the van, the pump clips onto the reservior bracket. So I added an area on the bracket on my Suburban to mount the pump, and connected the inlet side of the pump to the feed tube/cap on the reservior. I just powered it with a momentary toggle on the dash since at the time I couldn't figure out how to make it work with the factory switch. I have since found the info on how to do that, but I haven't had the time. Heck I haven't been able to drive my Burb since last summer :(

Excellent Cap'nfab!!! Just what I was thinking. Something simple and straight forward. I havent messed with the switch yet, but I figured I'd have it actuate a relay. Maybe the pump doesnt draw much??

I remember seeing a thread for a replacement tank but dont know what it was. I'm thinking the tank was the same as a Camaro, or something like that. I have spent no time searching any catalogs; I'll post if I find it.

You don't need a relay. The pump doesn't draw much and the contacts in the switch are huge compared to what is actually needed. This is long before the auto companies realized they can make things crappier, then sell more replacement parts.

Good point!:lol: I also figured that the pump doesn't run that long; not like headlites or an electric fuel pump.

I did find in Classic Industries catalog these items: bracket, jar, and cap. They also have a complete kit but no picture. Also listed are pumps from '64-'04. looks like this is going to happen!!!!:metal:

OK, update. Figured I'd call about the universal stuff and this is what I got!! Went to O'reilly's and they had a kit, ANCO brand (they also make wipers). It has a bottle with pump, new switch,wiring, and hoses. 40 bucks......no brainer for me. The switch is under the plastic bag with the 2 copper lines they supply in case one needs to make their own squirters. I may need to get a 'T' fitting and thats about it. Next I have to sort out the switch and wire from the stock set-up.

Not really a truck update, but sort of...... heres a pic of the '66 bringing home the new air compressor so I'll be able to spray some love on the other two trucks.:metal: It's got enough capacity for spraying and its relatively inexpensive as far as compressors go. 60 gallon, 11cfm@40psi. Perfect for me. May finally have some updates on the other threads in the coming months.

And by the way, still havent put in a switch for the windsheild wiper spray set-up!!:lol:

You're going to love your compressor. I hooked my up with about 40 feet of 3/4" steel pipe. I sloped it down and put a drain on the end and some air taps off of that. Works great no water.:smoke: The tap I use for painting I also run through a watercollector and filter. Looks like another good use for the creeper board. My dog uses mine for a skate board.

I was out in the garage trying to figure out how to plumb stuff....it's kinda bassackwards but thats where it fits. Cant wait to spray something!!!

I hear ya! That's exactly what we were saying. Too many people and not knowing faces made it hard to find people. I'll supply the name tags and hand them out at the next one if Dino is cool with it :metal:

I love driving the GMC around for the same reason. It' just too fun ;)

Wanted to say that you have a great daily driver here! Keep driving and improving it over time. I also think it is great that you got a new air compressor. Hope your new year goes well!

Nice work! How are those 4" drop springs working with heavy loads?

I am thinkin about dropping my '64 with those in the rear, but still haul my bike and stuff around town, don't want it bottoming out.

Hey dracko.....these were 4''HD springs from CPP. I bought them for my 'burb originally. I think they left the 'HD' out:lol:. They ride nicely but with a load Im sitting on the bump stops. I have carried lumber, retaining wall block, the compressor, and other assorted construction stuff. I'm not sure if they would tighten up if they could travel farther without hitting the bump stops, if that makes sense.

I think I would seriously consider putting in bags with a compressor, or dont go this low.

Okay thanks alot for the info man. I also thought they might hold up better since they're HD, but obviously that isn't the case....at least the ride is smoother I guess!:lol:

I'll have to look into 2" drop springs in the rear with 2" drop spindles up front then.
