Re: Driver on a budget.
What year Escalade is the gauge cluster from? Are the gauges controlled by the ECU or separately?

Re: Driver on a budget.
We didn't get nearly as much snow as they predicted so it wasn't too bad. I like that picture though.
I wasn't going to keep posting after I turned my truck into a daily, but I made possibly the best mod after fuel injection today. Last week I cut the metal part of the bump stops off so I wouldn't bottom and did the caster mod. It rode better but still drove like a 40 year old truck with worn out steering. Today I put on a remanufactured steering box from a 73, new pitman arm and rebuilt the rag joint. Wow, wow, wow, wow, wow! It drives like a sports car now. Don't even think about putting the original box back on your truck. DO use a rebuilt box from 73 up. Better ratio, fresh and only 125 from most parts stores. DO rebuild the rag joint. Cheap and easy DO replace the pitman arm. Yours is 40 years old and new ones are cheap. DO the caster mod. You probably have the arms torn off anyway. I can't say what made the biggest difference, but together they are HUGE!!!! |
Re: Driver on a budget.
I finally got my ac hooked up and working today. After some ridiculous quotes from ac shops along with many, "it can't be done," responses I did some reading, bought a pump and gauges, had some hoses made and easy peasy - it's done. The problem I'm having is the hot side is very hot and mixes too much with the cold side.
Can someone with a factory airbox that is removed from the truck please post a picture of the hot/cold diverter and how it works? |
