Re: How about some pics of '73-'87 Crew Cabs Part II
Its been a while since I had last posted. Here is my 1975 crew. My dad finally brought it up from colorado as i am now in ohio. Gotta love the fact that its rare to see a truck of this age with hardly any rust on it here! I have since taken the camper shell off.... that ugly thing was a temp move. https://fbcdn-photos-b-a.akamaihd.ne...d7ddffe662260b

She is home now. New rubber and mufflers tomorrow and hope to be using the truck. Now if I can just keep my wife from making me sell it. With the exception of some rust through behind each front wheel, the truck is rust free. Completely original 46,000 miles. Drove home 215 miles on original tires that sat flat for 25 years and it was one of the scariest drives I can recall. Fresh rebuild on the motor and she is ready to go.

Here's a new pic of mine since I lowered it. I know it's ugly as hell but I like it. Waiting on a new gas tank to arrive to go get it aligned.

Been a lurker here for a while since I acquired my truck. I have been threw over 70 vehicles but this is my first square body. It is a 1982 GMC, 454, th400 camper special model. It was parked in the field near where I live and used as storage for the last 7 years because the ma did not like the gas mileage it would get :) After spending a bit of time on it in the field I made an offer of 200.... two hours later I drove it home. 97k original miles, ruby red fluid and structurally very sound because we do not use salt in northern Nevada. Truck spent it's whole life in a small town. I tuned it up, changed a few things, new belts, hoses, the usual. Nos Delco cap n rotor and an Accel HEI coil. Then I proceeded to pile on 1400 miles of a solid 10 miles to the gallon driving it up to the northern US. I know some people do not like toppers but I wanted one. It was a pain finding a classic one that was actually built for my truck but I think it looks appropriate. I love my truck and take a lot of comfort in knowing I can survive a crash with a camry and easily drive away should it ever happen. Now come all the little upgrades I can throw on from the 88 thru 91 Subs :gmc2:

Bonus post. What do y'all think about the 2015 High Country wheels on a Square Crew? Think I'm going to put them on the red/grey one.

I like it! I was under the impression that the new wheels had a different bolt pattern/pattern size so they wouldn't fit the older trucks? I have been wanting to try some on my 96 cclb because I can get rid of my old ones and get new ones with tires for cheaper than just getting new tires. How do they fit? |
