Good looking trucks!
Tell me about the gas filler cap on the AD truck.
I did not know that the Ausi. trucks had the gas tank opening on the _"Drivers" side (passenger side)

GAB50,
what power steering kit did you go with ?

leonard

gab50 07-16-2010 11:32 AM

Re: How about some pics of 47-59

I used the steering arm and mount kit from CPP along with their pitman arm. Then I just pieced the rest together. 82 1\2 ton steering box, late 90's corvette type II pump, modified zoops bracket, universal and steering shaft from summit and my own AN lines to fit. With the big block room was really at a premium.

Re: How about some pics of 47-59

thanks for the info.....
so, the steering box mounts outside the frame ? if so, did you notice any interference with the drivers tire and the box on sharp right turns ?

Re: How about some pics of 47-59

I haven't had a problem with turning but in the tech section they say to not use wider than 7" rims and not real wide tires. My truck had wide tires before the swap so I had added a little to my stops beforehand. I don't know what I will find when I install my dropped axle but am switching to smaller tires. If you ever get to doing this swap drop me a note and I might have ideas that might make the swap easier.

Re: How about some pics of 47-59

thanks so much for the info. when i get the cash and am ready for the swap, i will get back with you.
good luck.
