Wow , very cool . The green Holmes 440 with the tapered sides on the body is a sonic body . Came out in 79 or 80 . My 1st wrecker was a 69 gmc with the 18" wheels , tach , buddy seat & a Holmes 220 ( same as 440 but electric winch ) then a 66 50 series with a Holmes 500 & the rest is history . This year is the 100th anniversary of Holmes & I'm still playing with wreckers ! Lol.

Nice wrecker. Gonna keep it as one (I hope)? The '71 I had was a Wreckmaster. I never see them, especially not with the name plates. Mine had a different body that I really liked. It ran straight down the sides and low. I ran GM bed rails and they lined up with the upper cab trim

I've been MIA from the forum for a while now. Stopped by to see what going on. I'm in the towing business now. I would love to have a fleet of nothing but vintage tow trucks. How sweet would that be?

My Dads 70 c30. Bought as a cab and chassis. Stretched 3 feet and custom ramp bed made to haul his camaro and other drag cars in the late 70s/ early 80s. I'm starting to make it road worthy again.

This truck is a twin to my red truck.White truck was Frank Lupos old truck waaayy back in the day..((Fairbanks Racing Automatics)).Truck was to rusted..sold to a friend who put bed on a c.o.e.He took sleeper off ,repaired rust and powder coated bed black.

I keep hoping i will find some pictures of mine from back in the day, the way it is setup i belive it was a race car hauler, interior was diamond tuck that was falling apart, had 74ish camaro/firebird buckets with stock truck console(cpuld have been a later add on).

Truck was originally a dark green color and i believe started life somewhere around indianapolis before making its way to washington. Habe a pile of receipts for work done before it came to washington.

If anybody recognizes it or knows the truck id love to hear some history. Ot was a factory a/c cab too.

This story is about Chevy ramp trucks I swear....

This past week was the Pebble Beach Conours d'Elegance along with the Rolex Monterey Motorsports reunion at Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca.

On Thursday my son,Justin, and I made our way down to Carmel to catch the Pebble Beach Tour d Elegance. These rare and valuable show cars get 1 additional point in the judging if they make the 30 mile round trip from Pebble Beach show to Carmel.

When they get into Carmel they park on Ocean Ave from Noon-2 and crowds swarm all around these beauties. It was fun to see. Below are a couple shots of my favorites.

Silver car is a 1938 SS 100 Jaguar Coupe.
Red is a 1959 Ferrari 250GT.

Gotta hand it to these owners. Sharing their cars with the public crawling all around them is a great thing.

Afterwards we drove to Laguna Seca. Justin has driven the track in his Spec E30, so he knows it pretty well. They are celebrating 60 years of racing and had a tent with some historical cars and displays called "Racing through the Decades". Crowds were very light. We freely roamed the paddock to see up close many older race cars, talk with their mechanics and drivers and see them racing on the track. It was awesome.

Now about those Chevy trucks....While walking around I could not help but notice a couple cool C30 ramp trucks. They were clearly in top shape and working. Thought I'd share pictures of them.
