Like the fuse box setup, what vehicle is it out of?

Re: 1964 GMC 3/4 ton build :D

customized 96-99 vortec truck fusebox. did some revamping of the circuits for the LS vortec 454 harness. I have an extra of them I am going to be sperating from the harness pretty soon. Painless uses them also on their complete body and engine harness setups.

well the engine is out and on a stand in my garage next step is to start gathering the hipo parts for it and tear the top and bottom of the engine down for rebuilding and new cam bearings. Once the gmc gets up here drop it in and tart locating the holes for the transmission shifter and ranger overdrive. Main thing is waiting for my new jobs paycheck to kick in so I can start looking at a brownie box and or a ranger overdrive unit not sure till I check out the 3 speed brownie box this guy has for sale for 600$ :D.

Tj yeah what I thought at first lol found out it was a pine branch from when the previous owner had "a friend" redo the cam and top end on the engine lol. But Ya know I think this is a mary jane engine lol getting high and running according to the previous owner "20 mpg in a 4x4 crew cab one ton" rothflmao
Rust lol yepper he has been a fun build learning a lot about all the in n outs of things I have tried attempted to try and trying in progress lol. Trying to look at all my options before dumping a ton of money as I have in the past lol. Will be putting up a new fuse box build on here later this week fir the 2006 truck harness i am working on right now.

Well been a busy bee the last couple of weeks since last posting of progress. I have completed a new style fuse box that will work much better on the 64's fender wells and allow for custom placement of the components when installed. plus it gives me a little leeway with the length of the engine harness. Also got dammed lucky and talked with a Chevrolet dealership that managed to get me 2 sets of vortec 454 l21 valve covers that have coil pack mounts on them :D . last up revised the harness and integrated a lot of the extra harnesses into one unit making it more compact for my build I used a 22 pin weatherpack for the firewall through connections but am looking at that as their are some metripack junctions that appeal to me just trying to track down which vehicles they came out of in the Chevrolet line of vehicles.
Devin Jeffers another member here I getting the other set of the valve covers since he is working along the same lines as I am but with a newer truck :D.

Here are some pics of the work and parts I acquired:

Sean

first pic is the revised engine harness got busy and ordered a lot of terminals and such from Mouser out of dallas texas for the rebuild :D

next are some pics of the fuse box assemblies I am have built to power this critter up as you can see I have plenty of room between each for custom placement. I ran them as such maxi fuse then relay then fuse box which is where it terminates to the fuel injection and interior feed harness.
last up the rare gem l21 coil pack valve covers the only big block gen 6 that came from chevy with a 24 x control system factory for coil on plug running.

Hey 63,
Yep never really stopped just problems to work through along the way :D. I had a big block back in past stuffed off in her but that was another story lol. I am working on getting enough money saved up to have him shipped up from Oklahoma this summer to finish him and get him rolling around finally lol.

been busy on the fuel injection harness and a side business I have started.... Started doing some fuel injectoin harness rebuilding and fuse box builds specifically for 67-87 trucks and starting on some for 60-66 trucks. Will be setting them up on ebay when they are finished and see what happens lol :D. I just today finished the ramjet 454 fuel injector harness with a quick disconnect so I dont have to pull the upper manifold if I need to pull the injection harness for any reasons lol. What can I say I see it from the lazy I dont want this headache view lol :D .

Re: 1964 GMC 3/4 ton build :D

Well to throw outta a few updates. My first fuel injection harnes sI built for this ole big block was too short in all the wrong areas so it has become the sacrificial lamb for a vortec 454 harness I just picked up for a franklin. Plans are to strip the covering off the 454 harness then go through and pull the pins out of the 454 computer connectors and restab em in the corresponding LS1 computer connectors lol time consuming but the length in the harness assemblies is way noticeable. Also wednesday having my son roll over to fed ex freight center and pick up my 1993 chevy truck nv4500 that is coming in from kentucky lol long story there. got it and the friehgt for 639$. If luck still holds I may be landing a ranger overdrive unit in a couple of weeks :D Also I have a check coming in late this week early next week will provide my truck rescue transport funds for first week of august. I will be flying down to fix the rear bearings in the axles and get him rolling enough to load on an enclosed trailer and bring him home already got the garage spaced cleared and ready plus plenty of space for all the parts boxes in the abck of the truck /sigh so dammed ready!!!!!

Sean

On a side note have picked up a couple of drive by wire chevy lq4/lq9 drive by wire harnesses I am working on stand alone converting as something to keep me from going stir crazy lol :D

Well been buys on my few days off got quite a few things done and waiting on a few things to come in lol. Firstly last week a nice guy from kentucky sold me a 92-95 chevy nv4500 2wd for 400$ add to that 225$ shipping through fedex freight I now have the transmission for my engine. Today while I was out n about I snagged up a complete ranger overdrive unit plus a few extras: muncie 465 with chelsea dable operated pto unit and a gmc aluminum bell housing that has a provision for a clutch pivot built into it. Plans are to try and track down the plate that hi impact has made for their ranger overdrives to adapt it to the nv4500 in my hands failing that will take the ranger apart and take the backing plate to a machinst to have a new one made that fits my transmission. still deciding on bell housings right now but honestly leaning towards the mechanical housing with the right springs ought to be reasonably easy on the knees for shifting lol.

In addition to these lucky find bought up a used 454 vorte truck harness and started taking the split loom off and it is compoletely stripped and being repinned into the l18 vortec ecm connectors as we speak. Got an order of wire coming in tomorrow with some additional connectors to get the coil pack wiring and groun circuits in by the end of the week. 1st week of august a local boy is going to trailer the ole bugger up to me from oklahoma so I can start the final build stages with the exception of paint and body work..... more on that later lol here is some pics of the harness start to finish!

here are some more pics of the harness. Will have some pictures of the ecm mount up soon I found one form a 99-04 corvette that is perfect if you are doing drive by wire it mounts the ecm and the tac module together in one spot :D.

Here is a picture of the ecm bracket assembly parts numbers are: 10288066 and 10288067 I used partsvoice.com to find them got em out of california for about 40 bucks with shipping. If the gm part number is still good or an nos partsvoice great place to find some of the items you may be hunting for :D. It also interfaces with some of the NOS places in the country as well. The corvette ecm mount has 4 mnounting posts that are all even making it perfect for the 60-66 inner fender area. Will have more pics once I find a nice spot for it and the ecm and start mounting it. Thinking nylon bolts to prevent and ground arcing from the ecm would be a wise idea.

Hi guys n gals,
Ramjet 454 harness is complete just awaiting engine rebuild and truck in my hands to install and finish up the connections to it. Also I got some lucky strikes in on craigslist lol. 2 weeks ago I picked up a complete ranger overdrive unit bell housing and muncie sm465 transmission for 700$. Found out that advance adapters no longer makes the adapter plates for the nv4500 so hunting a machinist now to discuss redrilling versus new plate options for it. Looking at first week of august to get my truck shipped up from oklahoma YAAAYYYYYY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! will be flying down there to fix the axle bearings and get it ready to load on a trailer with my toolbox and other needed worldly car parts goods lol. Figger it will take me a days or two to get the axle straightened out and ready then will be repacking the bed and the cab with the parts and accessories I am having brought up with him.

well gotta love murphy. Wifes min pin broke its leg so was forced to sell my 454 engine, nv4500, and the ranger overdrive unit that I had bought for it. only thing I held back were the vortec 454 coil pack valve covers lol :D will be throwing those up for sale here soon. But at the same time I lucked out have to semi kinda go back a few steps but will work out still planning to do the Allison 6 speed trans in the process of saving money to get one from a junkyard atm. Also started working on a new console project and idea after looking at some newer gmc vehicles. Got my hands on a console with floor shift assembly and the tap shift button. Also my baby is home from Oklahoma alil worse for wear have to do some filing on the rear passenger side dana 6 spindle when the bearings seized it left a ridge that needs to be smoothed out on it grrrrr nothing is ever easy /sigh.

so onwards upwards and beyond lol here are some pics of the console and mods to get it to fit in the truck still working on it as we speak so there will be more to come such as the shifter cables and filler panels etc. Also got my wiring harness out after looking at the Frankenstein mess I had made of the thing and started all over from scratch on it. If any yall need txl wire in relatively short lengths there is a place in Vancouver Washington called motor sports wiring his prices are very very good 16 gauge wire 25 foot length about 5 bucks he does not carry any striped versions tho I keep mentioning it to him lol :D. well here we go some pics of the new console experiment.

some pics of the start of the wiring harness rebuilding. Just got the fuse box torn down last night and saved what I could salvage from the old harness. I also relocated the old air relay to the fuse block next to the horn relay trying to make it a cleaner installation. Still have left to figure out where to mount my headlight dimmer relay some where near or on the fuse block itself.
I need to call old air wiring tomorrow and get another copy of there wiring directions for the unit mine got damaged sitting in the barn for the last two years grrr!

The 454 got sold about a month ago well fortune decided to smile upon me lol. I started a small ls engine rewiring service out here and have been getting a lil of everything as fas as wiring jobs go currently working on a older tpi unit for a friend. Well one customer didn't have cash to pay me so instead he offered a 2004 escalade lq9 in trade for my work. so now I gotta gather the stuff back up for an ls swap now thank god it aint hard lol. Plans changed on the transmission not going to do the manual trans after all sed the hell with it and looking at an Allison 6 speed at this time since I now have a shifter and console designed to work with it lol. Will be getting that ordered next month I am hoping. This weekend I picked up another 4.3 ac bracket with bypass pulley for 25 bucks at a junkyard.
