Ok, just learning here. I have a 49 that I want to lower. So, what is straight axel and 3 inch drop axel?
His truck looks really good. I love the tires. Any info on them?
Thanks,
Jonna

hopped up, don't know how juan did his, but I fabbed up my own mounting bracket for my steering box and used a pitman arm for dropped trucks.

here are a couple of mine, we flipped the pitman arm upside down and moved it on top of the leaf springs to make it work

I have a 57 and it looks like with the 3" drop ax and monos I can get pretty low. Not on the boards like I want but funds wont allow.

Just actually ordered my 4" dropped axle (also does 3") from Sid at Droppedaxles.com. I will say he very knowledgeable, incredibly helpful, and easy to work with thus the reason behind getting my business. Head over to http://www.droppedaxles.com/ to check out a guide on the installation of the dropped axle, the parts needed, and even pictures of customer's trucks.

Good luck.

The kit I got was $375 but didn't include a pedal assembly, the kit with the pedal is about $650, but that was only because I got the pedal assembly from a guy who decided to go with a firewall mount instead.

Sorry for late reply.
Sid asked, and i told him disk brake upgrade was in the future so if i remember its a little different to make up for the disk brakes.
The picture angle just makes it look like a huge difference. I can measure this weekend.
As for the scrub line - with 15" wheels... Its close. Hope i dont have a flat.

Funny - on some automotive forums they'll flame you for reviving ancient threads. Then they'll flame you if you don't do a search for old threads. You can't please everyone - or anyone. Glad this group isn't that way.

HAHA well the MOTO forum that I get on will have people losing their minds when someone searches for threads then comments on it. I was hoping it wouldn't be that way here. But I also don't care either lol.

Re: pics of your lowered straight axel 3100

Im curious as to how many of you really follow the whole scrub line thing?

Im about to install a 4" drop axle with 15" rims, this will be putting my axle to ground clearance at 3"

Is this too little, or what do you guys think? should i have gotten the 3" and paid $400 more for the lowering springs?

just wondering what you guys are running on what size wheels.

who else has a low axle? (lower than scrub line)

EchoBravoSierra 09-19-2018 03:57 PM

Re: pics of your lowered straight axel 3100

I personally don't want to learn the hard way about scrub line problems, since I'm running 15" wheels and don't plan to go bigger than 15 or 16".
