Here it is. The first of our updated C-10 parts to come out of the project J.T. test truck. As we all know shocks are a key component for performance. But equally important is the location of the shocks. Remember, these were built as trucks, not performance drivers. So just as you update the motor and trans components it's important to upgrade suspension parts. Our new rear shock mounting system provides for the mounting of long stroke shocks. Even on lowered trucks, allowing the full travel of the rear suspension. Also we have recolated the shock position to mount them behind the axle, and outboard on the frame. This outboard mounting gives a wider stance for the shocks, making the truck more predictable and stable. As an added benefit there is now more room to run the exhaust over the rear axle. Installation is easy and only requires drilling four 3/8" holes. All of the mounts locate onto factory holes so no measuring is required. Start building true performance today. Parts are in stock and ready to ship. If you are adding shocks, we will need to know the drop of the rear spring.

Does the upper mount use existing frame holes or do you need to locate and drill new ones?

Stealthy yes, the upper mount uses one existing hole per side (a large 5/8" hole) tp locate the mount, then you must drill two 3/8" holes per side.
68custom We have run these style mounts with coil-overs in the past, with great results. With the shock/spring located behind the axle, a soft spring is needed, around 200 lb/in. We have used a 5" stroke shock (17" open, 12" closed) with a 12" spring. Panhard a question was asked about the compatability with stock, and other panhard rods. There is no clearance issues here, The upper mount in this system is a bit farther back on the rail (just behind the stock panhard mount) so there are no clearance problems with the stock panhard mount, or any aftermarket mounts. |

Rob, which shocks are you running on the back of JT? Do you plan on changing the shocks once it's on air?
Also, do you have any time frame of when the panhard bar and sway bar setups will be available? |

The JT is running the #102 Doetsch hydrolic shocks. they are good but a little firm. Yes, we will keep these as our baseline shock with air. We just put a set of the #101 So Cal shocks on the back of Jakes 66 (a test truck for our rack kit) and it is on air, and he loves it now. The panhard kits are at powder coat, will be ready to ship sept 1, sway bars are in final testing, should be in production and ready to go oct 1.

Sounds good, do you have a price on the panhard bars yet and can we pre-order them? I'd like to get the panhard and shock setup ASAP, depending on if my truck account has enough for both right now.;) When the sway bars are ready I'll probably get one of those too.

(B) 5-7" Drop Spring
I have a question about the above listed infomation. You have listed A or B based on drop spring size/drop. Would there be a difference if the spring was 4 inch with a 1 inch block? I am assuming that it doesn't matter how you achieve the amount,spring vs spring & block, it is just the amount of drop. I think I just confused myself... I am currently running 5 inch springs, love the look but can't stand the harsh ride and am considering changing to a 3inch spring and 2 inch block. my shocks are Doetsch Tech P/N 4052G. or would I realize a decent(smooth) ride with just the addition of your shock kit or would you suggest changing it all? I do have a CPP relocation kit installed. Thanks for any suggestions. |

Gregg,Actually the spring maters, and the block doesn't. The shock and spring both attatch to the trailing arm, so thats what matters. The block, if used, spaces the axle away from the trailing arm, but doesn't change the relationship of spring, arm, shock and frame. I would lean toward a 3" spring and a 2" block. As crazy as it sounds, the 'A' shoch measures 14" closed, and 23" open, thats nine inches of travel. The doetsch shock you have is 10" to 15.25", so 5 1/4" of travel. Also, the doetsch nitro is a firm/x-firm shock, but it needs to be due to the short travel avail. Hope all that helps.

Oops, sorry it took so long. Yes, the new Panhard rods are ready to go. This may be a shocker, list price is set at $219.00. Forum members get 10% off. I'll get some picts up today. Part of the assembly includes the 'Tie plates' that fit between the trailing arm and axle, and these also have the rear swaybar attachment points. The new rear swaybar kits will list at $239.00. If you get both, you will save $30.00 (we don't have to send the tie plates twice) No, you don't have to buy at the same time. Just let us know. I know the pricing is a bit high compared to those resalers of imported parts, but thats life. US made, quality performing parts cost a bit more. You get what you pay for. Believe me, you'll be happy with these parts.

You know when I first saw some onther companies advertising shock relocators, this is how I thought they would be set up, then seeing the others that did not move the shock that much I was disapointed.
Question 1a. How much longer of a shock will this allow compared to stock? Question 1b I have 5" drop springs, would I still need 5" drop length shocks, or 3" or stock lentgh? Question 2. What about stock type side exit exhuast? Looks like this would be right in the way. Great work! |

you'll notice that the lower shock mount studs are 6061 stainless, we couldnt find what we wanted, so we had to have them made. It took a while, but it's right.
