Mr. Fin, thank you for sharing your project. Don't worry about your English, you are communicating well. You guys are doing some really nice and thorough work. It's cool to know of a truck being restored over there. I have been to Denmark Norway and Sweden and I'm surprised by the American vehicles. But I don't ever remember seeing a full-size pickup truck, so I think it's great.

Nice work, guys! Keep it up and keep sharing!

Re: Silverado restoration in Finland
Nice metal work. I've got the same repairs to do on my box.
What's the story with the V70? |

Thank you! My wife and google translation will help me writing in English. My wife also helps with the truck... ;) After all, you've visited almost next door (Sweden) ;) Yes, here in Finland is the Chevy trucks, but they are almost all really rusty, so here may not be good for used parts. We have to subscribe to almost all parts of USA, and it will be very expensive. Ilkka |

Maybe you can write your posts in Finnish and then do a Google translation and copy it into English too. Then you can get your brother and other Finnish friends to join the Forum and read your updates. |

I'm really blessed because I have such a wonderful wife! You can be sure that I will try my best to take good care of my wife. I'm sorry you and your girlfriend because of the difference, but better luck in the future. Yes I am using google translator but I want to learn better English because I need English in my work in the future. My brother can be hard to get in here the forum but I'll tell greetings. I did not bother to tell my friends of these in my stories that they need not be ashamed of me so much. ;) ... They speak English well. |

You guys are doing a good job on the rust repair. It looks like you have done it before. I am familiar with the BMW you mentioned but what does the Opel Corsa look like?

That Opel Corsa is builted from 2 cars, Opel Corsa 1.2S and Opel Kadett 1.8 GT. Body is Corsa and technique is a Opel Kadett 1.8 GT+Garrett turbo+intercooler. We builted it about 12 years ago. It is fun to drive. ;) Unfortunately, its engine is broken at the moment. I donīt know can I put here a few pictures from Opel but I dry... If I find some of the film where it accelerates 0-150 km / h, so I put it in here too. |

Both fender had to modify a lot of. A bad fit of both. But now it is almost done. Yet the cabin would have "a little" welding, not elsewhere.

Windows frame are almost welded. I hope we can lift the cabin up a few weeks and sandblast it. Painter should still be found.

We thought a little bit lowering.

Re: Silverado restoration in Finland
I came back to see how things are going. Thank you for the picture and information on the Opel Corsa. I'm sure it is fast with a 1.8l turbo engine. It looks like things are going well on the truck. You did good work on that cab corner and the part you added to the fender. What is your plan for making the truck lower?
|
Re: Silverado restoration in Finland
I am amazed at the metal work! Those patches look fantastic.

Hopefully the welding work will be completed and the cabin will be lifted off. After that we should get out of the cabin bolts whitch are broken, and then take it to the sand blasting. Do you have any good idea for cabin bolts? We were thinking modification rear hangers and shackles and front we thinking modification springs or put drop spindle. |
