here is a 64 stake I almost bought as a donor cab
http://i103.photobucket.com/albums/m...h/IMG_0283.jpg http://i103.photobucket.com/albums/m...h/IMG_0280.jpg it was in the 1991 tornado here in wichita, its probably still for sale, the guy couldnt get a title (which I needed sorely) and it was missing the carb (10yrs+ sitting gas was dry varnish). for what he was asking I could have almost doubled money scrapping it but no way could I do that. |

Bump! Let's see more of these. Or is there already a pics thread for the bigger trucks like C50-80s? There are a lot of clean, low mile Chevy farm trucks sitting in barns all over the Midwest that were only used a few miles a year traveling from field to elevator.

Re: Work Trucks - Utility / Service / Company / Fire / County
I saw something cool today. It was a 64 chevy c10 that had a service bed on it (box with tool boxes). At first, I thought why would someone do that. After looking at it closer, the bed appeared to be made for the truck long ago. The tailgate was considerably longer than most stock tailgates and still stamped chevrolet. Its pretty interesting spraying ditches for noxious weeds in rual kansas. I now have a list of 60-66 truck wrote out. Location, parts and years of truck in 2 countys so far. Gonna spend a weekend and take the '64 out for a spin and see who will sell what!!!

Thanks for all the great photos LostMy65! Here is a heavy duty GMC. This is the type of truck that would have a 478 V6 under the hood. 440Lb of torque @ 1200-2000 rpm. A sbc need not apply for this type of work! For the historical gurus, notice the blacked out center section of hood, which all original paint '62-'66 GMC's had, and the '64 Colorado licence plates.
