My 87 K5 Blazer project
Hey Guys
Here is my 87 K5 project. I bought the K5 off craigslist for $1500 bucks and it was VERY nasty when I got it. I've had the interior out and cleaned it up really good. I need to Get a K5 emblem for the fender,get the tailgate trim,fix vent window that shattered,fix passenger door trim, and get the rest of the parts I need for it. I'm probably going to remove the footsteps on it I'm not really a fan of them. :chevy: I will get pics up in a few minutes. Korey |

I got all my trim and the vent window fixed on my Blazer today i'll try to get pics up tomorrow.

Heres some new pics of my Blazer. Tomorrow I'm going to be working on the paint some more I'll probably polish the wheels out and polish the chrome out too.

I finished polishing the paint on my truck today it isn't perfect but it's alot better than what I started out with and I'm very impressed with the results. Tomorrow I think I'm going to start polishing the wheels, clean the glass, and polish the chrome. I'll get a few more pics up later

I see a fast little Jimmy in you drive way.:metal: I drove one in high school back in the 90's and would race all the guys in high school at the drag stip and blow them away! Man that thing was fast!

I took the footsteps off today I'll get pics in a little bit. I also painted where the red strip was in the grille black.

Stop with the pics of the phoon!! Your killing me! I kick myself every time I see one for selling mine! Looks like you have painted the lower trim on it? Thats what we did painted it all the same and it looked sweet!

Got my K5 emblems put on and got my tailgate straps so now I can sit on my tailgate. I still need a exhaust,the grille trim and a few other things. I'm very happy with it and I've been driving it alot lately and I enjoy it. :chevy:

Got to really test out the 4x4 tonight my buddy got his Silverado stuck and I was a last resort so I had to go pull him out and I must say the K5 did a really good job and I'm VERY proud of it.

Got some stuff at Autofair for the K5. I got some new 4x4 center cap decals and two Chevy truck license plates.

Just a heads up, that body-color stripe in the grill is factory. So when you painted it black, it looks like you scored a grill out of the junk yard off a black truck. At least to those of us old enough to remember them new.;)
If you don't like the body-color stripe, I'd try a silver just because it'd match the headlight bezels. And if it doesn't match good, you can paint the headlight bezels at the same time. You've brought the truck around well - nice work!:metal: |

This week hopefully tomorrow ill be repainting the grill and bezels. If i go to the junkyard this weekend im gonna try and find some factory tow hooks. Im also thinking about putting the factory bumperettes on the bumper

I think there are some tow hooks in the FOR SALE section.
Also...I think the bumperettes get in the way of the tow hooks by a little bit. |
