:metal:today i repainted the column, and made a new tilt lever, when i was working on the driver side fender i found a .38 spent cartaride, me being susperstisous, i woudnt throw it away in fear it would bring bad luck on my truck:dohh: so i just fab'd a new lever and put it on the lever, also repainted my steering wheel, it was rusted and looked like crap so i just painted it

Re: 1978 big ten build
Man, looking good. I always wanted a "real" big 10 just to say I did. The big 10 had heavy duty rear suspension, brakes, and a towing package. The original owner of mine got the heavy duty rear suspension and brakes but didn't get the towing package, close enough I guess but it's still lacking that F44 option :(

Re: 1978 big ten build

Can you tell me more about this? ( i will start another thread if nessesary). What is the GVWR of 5/8 ton? i think my 1/2 ton truck has the heavy duty rear springs(will count in a sec) and i'm wondering if that is why i don't have an A.I.R. pump and other emmissions junk? (never came with it) The truck did, however, to the best of my knowledge, come with a CAt converter. |

Re: 1978 big ten build
There is supposed to be a door with a rubber seal attached to a vacuum actuator so you have to have the heater on (at least I think, maybe it is to keep the cabin pressure) to have it open. Either way there needs to be a door there to keep moisture out.
