Cruisin the Coast 2012

Who is planning to attend Cruisin' the Coast in Biloxi, MS 7-14 October? I just made my reservations for the 12-13, hope to meet a bunch of board members!

We'll be there the 11th through the 14th. We usually camp on a vacant lot, on Hwy 90 in Biloxi. Which reminds me, I need to call the property owner and make my reservations.

That is so cool! My wife is done with the camping scene so we will be staying in a hotel.

This will be my first time bringing a vehicle, so I am pretty stoked. :metal:

Well, my truck is not running yet, mostly due to lack of focus, but I am doing my best. Hope to see/meet a slew of board members there! :metal:

So, is there an area where the forum crowd hangs out? Any tips or tricks to know? I am only going to be there Friday, Saturday and home on Sunday morning, so I want to make the best of it!

Yes it is and the hunt is underway.... After the the LX swap in the last one (loved it) everyone kept asking if I would sale it... I said no. However, I would trade it for a Corvette. So I have a very nice Corvette in my garage now.

The traffic is horrible on Saturday. We usually get out early Saturday morning and do our cruising. Then go back to the camper and watch everyone else.

We're camping at St. John Ave and Hwy 90.... Come on by... Just look for my orange '71 and a '67 that looks just like your avatar.

Any chance your camp site could be our epicenter?

Who do you talk to about a camping spot? I'd like to throw up a tent for a day or two.

Anyone is welcome to come by, anytime. We're kinda in and out all day during the week, but pretty much stay put there on Saturday, especially after noon.

The property owner won't allow tent camping, I asked her, last year, about that.

Cool! There doesn't seem to be a place that the forum crowd meets for this event and it might be cool if we could meet up someplace if it's not too much trouble. I have never brought a car/truck to this event but it doesn't seem to be like a good-guys event where it is all in one venue and you can park together and sort of tailgate. Just trying to create an opportunity for us to get together. :)

Re: Cruisin the Coast 2012

At one time,we would gang-up at Edgewater Mall.
But,not anymore, because the mall parking lot is always full!(you'd have to get there very early to park)
The beach side parking areas are good places too.
Still a 9:00 p.m. curfew,which I think should be extended to mid-night.
I'd love to see a place set-up for internet clubs/sites to gather.I think it would need to be a pretty big area!
I live here and have some property, but 30 miles from the event.Too far for easy access to the event.

My father-in-law attends the event every year. He is from the area, had a pic posted on his FB page of a volunteer crowd putting stuff together for the event. Told him to get me a bunch of pictures, maybe he will get some pics of some of your all's rides. Have fun!

Based on these quotes there are a bunch of guys who know this event inside and out. Would anyone like to give some pointers to the new kids? Does anyone know of a place we could meet up? :banghead::banghead:

Have you all herd of Gulf Coast Motorsports Magazine? They are on Facebook or go to gulfcoastmotorsports.com. Lots of info there. Buddy of mine joined the club ($15) so he could park at their lot. Neat Magazine that you can read online for free.

We were planning on going this year, but the 1960 El Camino clone will not be done until early November. My 70 C-10 with 3 speed and 373 gears would be SCREAMING the whole way from Shreveport Louisiana with those gears.

You've got to check out Ocean Springs. Try to get there early so you can get a good spot. Bay St. Louis is always a cool place. Live music and always tons of nice rides. Well heck everywhere is pretty much awesome. If I keep talking I'm just going to load up and head down tonight.

Looks like they are having a Cruise-in at the Edgewater Mall on Saturday night, that might be the thing to do.

Well, I would say if I make a future trip. I would be pulling from Kansas. Got family down there in Biloxi, so the stay would be free. Plus my father-in-law is involved with the event, got a free tour guide...lol But if I lived that close, I would be driving. Building it to enjoy it, why not drive it. You all have fun out there, hope to see you all in the future.
