Ridetech C-10 Street Grip... Should it be next on the list?
2 Attachment(s)
RideTech has a new suspension package on the market for the 1st and 2nd Generation GM F-body cars (67-69 Camaro and 70-81 Camaro) and for the 64-72 GM A-Body (Chevelle, Cutlass, Skylark Etc.) called the StreetGrip.
We are going to expand this product line to other areas such as the 58-64 Impala, 55-57 Chevrolet car and the 63-72 and 73-87 C-10. Who thinks the C-10 needs to be next on the list and in which year range? Check out this link from Bangshift on one of the first installs and let me know what you think. http://bangshift.com/bangshiftapex/r...why-its-legit/ |

Do 63 to 72! Look forward to seeing how you go about doing our trucks.

Re: Ridetech C-10 Street Grip... Should it be next on the list?
While my personal preference is the 67 to 72 truck, I believe you would have more potential volume of customers for the 73 to 87 product.
Great idea and I hope it sells well for you. |
Re: Ridetech C-10 Street Grip... Should it be next on the list?
Chase, in the unlikely event you need a tri-five for testing, development or evaluation of this system you are welcome to mine.

Re: Ridetech C-10 Street Grip... Should it be next on the list?
The question is are you going to make a leaf spring version for the trucks
|
Re: Ridetech C-10 Street Grip... Should it be next on the list?
Sign me up for a set of dual rate springs to go with my new HQ shocks. -1" front, -3" rear 68-72 please.

Re: Ridetech C-10 Street Grip... Should it be next on the list?
Hi Chase, any news on a version for 63-72 C10s?
What sort of drop are you planning? |
Re: Ridetech C-10 Street Grip... Should it be next on the list?
I don't have any info on it yet, but I will post up some measurements as soon as they become available.
|
Re: Ridetech C-10 Street Grip... Should it be next on the list?
Given that the 4.5 / 6 drop is the most popular, and widely assumed to be the "best looking" drop for these trucks, that's probably the ticket! And offer 73up ball joints as well to work with those new Wilwood ProSpindles! I'd be down...

Re: Ridetech C-10 Street Grip... Should it be next on the list?
The original height of one of these trucks is hard to determine. With spring sag, various suspension kits throughout the years and different owners etc. it is hard to say what the actual drop will be on your individual truck.
To rule out the discrepancy of heights and wheels sizes etc. we will give a center of wheel to fender lip measurement. |
Re: Ridetech C-10 Street Grip... Should it be next on the list?
As of now we are looking at doing the 63-72 trucks first.

Re: Ridetech C-10 Street Grip... Should it be next on the list?
Would be great, to have a drop spindle with a repositioned steering arm for better turning would be nice also.

What will kit include. Will it require shock relocators etc? Would there be any thought to supplying 2 front spring heights, one for those not using drop spindles and a taller one for those that are (like another company currently offers)? |
Re: Ridetech C-10 Street Grip... Should it be next on the list?
Just please don't leave out the 73-87 guys. We need some kits in the market.

Re: Ridetech C-10 Street Grip... Should it be next on the list?
So if my 72 C-10 is more of a weekend autocrossing toy (but not full track monster) would your other line of products be better?

The square body trucks are on the rise! I have an 82 swb sitting in the back of the shop waiting for his turn...

Re: Ridetech C-10 Street Grip... Should it be next on the list?
With that being said, I am going to put the Street Grip on my personal 85 C-10 when it becomes available because I don't do any racing with it and I just cruise with it and haul the occasional load of mulch. If I do decide to hit a local autoX or drive spirited it will still handle far superior to a stock suspension.
When I build another "fun" truck that actually has some horsepower I will spend the extra coin and get the coilovers. |

My question is will the sway bar components fit and work on my camaro type front with QA-1 upper and lower A-arms and coil overs? Looks like a hefty bar! what size and what do you think? Thanks for your input. |
