Missed a spot
That ever definitive style of old man trucker style pickup. This is what I was used to seeing growing up. It's a mighty fine example, very era-correct '70s style accessorized hauler. I'm with Redneck, I like it! I could roll my short sleeves up all tight, maybe a pack of Lucky Stripes in , mirrored aviator glasses, Cat hat... That ain't no truck. That there's a gall darn shrine is what that is. How about those bumper guards? Not sure which style you prefer? Plenty of room for both. I used to have those chrome window sill potectors in my '70 CST Custom Camper 157" utility bed truck Ihad |
Re: Wow, Talk about personalizing a Truck !!!
Wow, I think that is actually kind of neat. Somebody put a lot time and effort into it. Looks like a show case for the JC Whitney catalog.

That truck is a true time capsule!
Just look at the detail. Amazing. Can anyone find a mallard duck on or in it? This can be our version of 'Where's Waldo'.....:burnout: |

Re: Wow, Talk about personalizing a Truck !!!
It's the "anti farm truck" !!
Oh and he's an Earnhardt fan too. Gotta love that. I was just telling my daughter the other night in every town there is at least one person who accessorizes a vehicle up like this to the extreme. Use to guys like that bought their accessories at Western Auto, Otasco, JCWhitney and Walmart. He's got this one shined up real good. |
Re: Wow, Talk about personalizing a Truck !!!
The phrase "Tarted up" comes to mind. I wouldn't be putting any plywood, lumber or mulch in the back of that thing.
|
Re: Wow, Talk about personalizing a Truck !!!
The farmer pimp, what a great truck. I want that camper so bad....
|
Re: Wow, Talk about personalizing a Truck !!!

Re: Wow, Talk about personalizing a Truck !!!
Lotta time, effort and enthusiasm went into that one. Surprised the seller doesn't have a description....
|
Re: Wow, Talk about personalizing a Truck !!!
no idea what he want to get out of it but I'm watching...under all that garb...is one fine looking truck
|
Re: Wow, Talk about personalizing a Truck !!!
I've always kinda liked the old customized vans with shag carpet...this is the best of both worlds!
|
Re: Wow, Talk about personalizing a Truck !!!
Miss Dolly is awesome! I love the bow tie tail pipes. As said above he is a dedicated Earnhardt fan. That had my respect and appreciation from the beginning.

Re: Wow, Talk about personalizing a Truck !!!
I had the "3" front license plate before my truck came to California (in Cali you have to have two plates)

Hard to believe someone that put so many personal touches into this truck is selling it. My guess is whomever put this truck together over the years is no longer with us and the family is selling it for whatever they can get. Would also explain why there is no description of the truck as they have no clue. |
Re: Wow, Talk about personalizing a Truck !!!

Re: Wow, Talk about personalizing a Truck !!!
A CB rig, a Cop Spot and what is the furry thing dangling from the RearView? [Dead ferret, Shrunken Head, troll doll?]
Definitely worth all $3,000 he's asking. He never had that rig offroad, not with that cabin in the bed. That truck would look so natural in my backyard. |
Re: Wow, Talk about personalizing a Truck !!!
Who needs a description? What can't you see?? Just imagine the stack of receipts on that!
No mallards or pheasants on this one. This here is a dedicated li'l trucker rig, not a go hunting rig. This is a run down to the truck stop for a cup of coffee and chew the fat rig. Those may have shared some features but purpose built in an other way. Ol' Bobby Kingman had a '72 Cheyenne with a cap like that. Truck was a gem, very low mile. He had indoor/outdoor carpet in the bed for his beagles. That's all that truck did was haul his dogs. He had two other ones and mostly ran the white on Parchment Cheyenne Super with the red wheel bead showing between the wheel covers and narrow whitewalls. All trucks were kept inside. |

Re: Wow, Talk about personalizing a Truck !!!
It ain't finished without a CB and antenna. I've always kind of liked the redneck Trucker style of pickup. I've actually had a couple over the years and they do have some redeeming qualities. Great place to nap when you've had too many "Barley Pops".

Re: Wow, Talk about personalizing a Truck !!!
Break 1-9. You got your ears on? Better watch climbing back in that sleeper with them lot lizards for too awful long, good buddy, or you'll have a hard time rollin' out on that cross-town run in the mornin'... Over
|
Re: Wow, Talk about personalizing a Truck !!!
Someone has way too much time on their hands.
|
Re: Wow, Talk about personalizing a Truck !!!
 I haven't seen or heard the term "lot lizard" in a long time!
My father in law had a CB radio installed pretty much like this guy does. And cheesy speakers in the headliner. I tore it all out, and will eventually put in a new headliner and trim. The headliner was pretty butchered, and the trim broke up when I took it out. |
