Buck's '63 SWB Fleet Side Build
4 Attachment(s)
I picked up n2billet's '63 he called Milly a few weeks ago, my plans aren't even close to the vision he had but I am really excited to work on this truck! It really feels like an honor to work on such a clean truck, nothing is rotten or molested and I take the responsibility of being her caretaker seriously. I see this truck going through a couple... let's call, them generations that will culminate in what I intend to be my forever truck. Now... I know most of you that will follow along know my '68 stepside still holds a special place in my heart but that truck is long gone and I don't foresee it coming back into my life so Miss Milly will be my focus as long as she'll have me. Here are a few pics from the the drag home, we'll talk more about her future later... take care y'all!
Just couldn't take my eyes off her during the ride home! Attachment 2043405 Getting some gas on the way home, couldn't help but be a little giddy. Attachment 2043406 Quick first Florida pic before unloading her. Attachment 2043407 She sure is pretty in that Florida sunshine. Attachment 2043408 |

Re: Buck's '63 SWB Fleet Side Build
Dadgum, I love your truck. I have the same bumper on mine and was wondering how it would look painted white. Looks a lot better than silver!

Re: Buck's '63 SWB Fleet Side Build
I'm (in)vious. Hope the spelling police don't come after me. :)

Re: Buck's '63 SWB Fleet Side Build
Beautiful truck, congrats! Love the Patina on the tailgate...how many hands have closed the tailgate to perfect those spots?

Re: Buck's '63 SWB Fleet Side Build
Looks like the peer pressure got to you and you started a build thread after all.
I'm in for the journey! |

Went picking the other night and picked up some front end parts. The guy bought new rotors and calipers then decided to part out the truck so I got those as well as the upper and lower control arms and the steering linkage. I hate to do anther set of control arm bushing but here I go... We have a set of ECE 2.5" drop spindles from the boys '67 that'll help get the truck down in the weeds. Hope to have the wheels later this week and I'm going to go look at a 5 lug 12 bolt tomorrow after work. Things are starting to come together. :metal:

Just a pic of Milly and Project Underhaulin to the thread alive-ish. Milly is on the back burner until my shop is complete, the contractor is supposed to start tomorrow. :haha: Hopefully it will just be a month or two.

Re: Buck's '63 SWB Fleet Side Build
Looking forward to seeing both trucks when you get over here again. Good luck on shop.

Not much happening with Milly as I am waiting for my shop to be completed. I did get the '85 C10 front end parts back from powder coat and I ordered a few parts for the rear suspension from Jason at Deadend Garage. Her are a couple pics of the front end parts and my little shop.

Re: Buck's '63 SWB Fleet Side Build
Nice. I was wondering what the status on this truck.
Keith & I walked around LST last weekend talking about trucks we've had/have & checking out some old favorites (+ seeing some new ones). |
Re: Buck's '63 SWB Fleet Side Build
Nice little shop! The satin black on those parts look good.

The first phase of Milly's transformation is complete; five lug swap with disc brakes up front, dual pot master cylinder with adjustable proportioning valve, I'm guessing a 5/7-ish drop (the springs are an unknown to me), Deadend Garage rear notch track bar and shock re-locators, and finally the popular 15" Troq Thrust Ds.

Attachment 2095792 Dual pot master cylinder installed Attachment 2095793 Money shot! I wasn't sure I'd ever really like a truck as much as I liked my green '68 stepper... but I am there again. I love it! Attachment 2095796 Another side shot. Attachment 2095797 |
Man your truck is looking good! I have been craving some time out in the shop with mine and seeing your project just pushed me over the edge! Thanks for the push! Good looking truck man

Well... it has been a minute since I updated this thread! We have begun the transformation, the first step was driving a little over 2,000 miles round trip (1,000 of them straight through on the way home) to Boris Maryanovski's Street Machinery in Euclid, OH to pick up a new chassis. We are putting Milly on a Roadster Shop Slammed SPEC chassis equipped with their FOX coilover shocks. We have pulled the body off the old chassis have started fitting it to the RS chassis. I have a 6.0L LS that my friend Ernie Holder will be going through, looking for 500hp, and a 4L80E to back it up. I think I'm going to run a 3.25 gear in the rear end. Let do some pics...
