TBI throttle shaft bushings...

Aluminum housing vs. steel shaft after 200K miles....makes a vacum leak when moved ....sets code 32 as the map sensor looks for vacum burbs to confirm egr operation....

GM wants close to $350 for a new housing....

Holley replacement is around $300 @ checker auto...

Would like to find someone who can drill out and bush the shaft saving tons of money for better things like machine work for the 350 going into the Chalet...

Grand Junction is a small town...everything can be had here via ups or fed ex.....so...does anyone know anyone or a shop in your area that does this type of work....and if so...how much....and would they mind me shipping it to them to get it done....

Got 3 to do....

Doug, why not go buy a kit and do it yourself. All you really need is a drill press. Pretty straight forward. Don't forget to file the ends of the butterfly screws to keep from breaking them off in the throttle shaft.

Was not aware someone made these in kit form as the housing is a one piece deal that will in time loose the war of attrition to the steel shaft..

They sure will. I replaced the throttle body on the 87 van I bought. It was worn and I got a good deal at the junkyard on another one that wasn't worn. It does in fact really screw with idle.

Now after saying what I did in the last post, I'm guessing they sell rebush kits for TBI's. I know they do for Q-jets, so I'm assuming they do. Of course you know the meaning of assume, right? :D
