WIW 1966? crew cab
found it in a junk yard a year or so ago pretty sure he still has it. it is a 1960-1966 crew cab cab on its frame but the frame was cut right behind the cab. has a dent on the rear passenger cab corner. no front doors but has the rears. no driver seat no motor trans or driver fender. i know the cab and the frame under the cab are probably the rarest parts my question is what is this worth so when i ask him how much he doesnt rake me over the coals.

Re: WIW 1966? crew cab
I'd need to see the condition of the metal. I'd want to see how the roof and floors look, because if both front and back are shot you're looking at either getting 2 donor cabs (or 2 patches) and/or doing a bit of fabrication work. If the pillars are shot, that's a lot more.
This sounds like it would be a good candidate for a custom truck. Find a later model chassis with power steering and brakes; add a C-notch and bags, then drop this cab on there...could be nice! Just from what you've said....I don't think I'd go above 750 to 9 hundred on it. If the metal is in good shape, maybe a grand. But that's just my personal opinion. Would love to see pics! |

Re: WIW 1966? crew cab
Your question got me thinking a bit. I think what I might do is make a Google doc that tracks all my expenditures for this truck. People always want to know how much it costs to restore these trucks....if I published exactly how much I spent, maybe that can help someone....

It really depends how bad you want a crew cab and what you're willing to spend on one. There are a lot of hours in building the cab alone and that alone is worth something. Good luck getting it. |

Re: WIW 1966? crew cab
The first one has been for sale for a loooooong time. it has roof damage that would definitely needs repair. one thing about these crews is that you really have to make up your mind that you WILL finish it. They tend to get out of hand. the more stuff you can do the less $ it will take but it is still money and if you dont have much, dont start it. buy the cab and make someones dream come true by selling to them.
